Job well done
The Blyth Homecoming Committee will soon be able to relax with the 125th celebration set
for this weekend. Thanks for the party goes to, in back, from left: Barb Knox, Donna Longman,
Bev Blair, Phil Black. Front: Thelma Johnston, Deb Hakkers, Eleanor Babcock. Absent: Ken
Stewart. (Vicky Bremner photo)
The Ethel community sends
farewell wishes to Doug Trollope
as he has sold his house in town.
(Doug transformed Doug and Jean
Evans' old hardware store into a
residential dwelling.)
I believe the new owner is
Andrew Versteeg, the pastor of
Cornerstone Bible Fellowship.
Best wishes to you both!
The Grey Twp. firefighters
responded to two calls in the past
week. The first call was a single
vehicle accident and the second
was a house fire (contained to one
room) at a rural home on the
outskirts of Ethel.
Mr. Perrie paid us a visit this past
week to tell our family about the
beavers at Grey Central. Apparently
the beavers were gnawing at the
poplars behind the shed at the
school and dragging them toward
the water to make a dam.
Mr. Perrie explained that there
was a flattened trail on the grass
where the beavers were dragging
the logs.
We haven't yet gone to have a
look but we are planning on it.
Also this week at the
naturalization areas at Grey Central
the Junior Rangers along with
Warren Moore of Blyth have been
busy clearing the trails and cleaning
bluebird boxes.
Well, the rain is beginning and
those warnings of shutting down
the computer in storms to avoid
power surges keep running through
my mind.
Have a great week!

judges Margaret Howe and Dave Hilton along the Greenway Trail Monday afternoon as part
of the tour of the village. Blyth is mentoring Wingham in this year's classic category which
pairs a past winner with a first time entrant. Blyth became a national champion last year. (Janice
