Friday night, July 19, saw a delicious barbecue and old-tyme dance at Glen Farm - owned by Mac and Jayne Taylor of Stanley Twp. Saturday saw a tour of the Blyth Union Cemetery. A piper, Dean Elliott. played in the distance. Flowers were laid by the younger generations. The planting of the first tree in the new memorial garden was the highlight of the day. Returning to the farm over 55 Sorry our mistake The winner of the Blyth Legion elimination draw grand prize was incorrectly named in last week's issue of The Citizen. The winner was Dave Novak. The next paper will be out as usual on August 14. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 2002. PAGE 3. NEWS FROM BLYTH The winner of the July 26, 125th calendar draw this week was Neil Elliott, Mt. Brydges. My apologies to the lawn bowling club in not reporting the winning scores of last week, so here they are along with this week's. July 15 high score was Joel Thorns, and Jim Wilson was the high score on July 18. The high score this past week, July 25, was Joel Thomas. July 23 games were rained out so everyone people registered and enjoyed a chicken dinner. Tributes were read for those not able to attend mainly Dorothy Taylor and Harriett Taylor Epperson. The afternoon was spent on tours, taking pictures. Youngsters played soccer and Frisbee. Later a tree was planted by Boyd and Bill Epperson, sons of Harriett Epperson to commemorate the founding of Orchill. Once again there was a cake decorated with a log cabin and all the farm animals. Supper was at 5 p.m. then everyone was off to a beach party on Lake Huron. Sundays began with a church service at St. James Middleton — a box lunch was served on the lawn of the church. The Blyth Christian Reformed Church would like to invite you to join us for an OUTDOOR SERVICE on August 11 at the Blyth Park at 7:30 p.m. Please bring your lawn chair. Indoors at the church if it rains. • there enjoyed cards. Amanda and Emily Craig are spending a few days with their grandparents Bodie and 011ie Craig. Marilyn and Don Craig spent the very hot weekend with Verna and John Evans of Sarnia, Marilyn's aunt and uncle. The weekend is fast approaching and there is much work to be done. Come out to our celebrations, have a good time and make this 125th a weekend to remember. Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, July 28 were 011ie and Bodie Craig. Guest minister was ittv.
