couple of days. While here they also
attended the Carter wedding in
Seaforth.
Returning from a week in Otillia
at a camp on Lake Couchiching was
Sarah McDonald, daughter of Jim
and Linda McDonald. She was
attending a leadership camp, along
with Seaforth boy, Mackenzie
Fischer. They were chosen to attend
through the Seaforth high school
athletic program.
They had to choose three sports
they had never done before, and
were taught . the rules, teaching
skills, motivational skills; coaching
and how to referee the sport. Sarah
chose rugby, tennis and rock
climbing.
She reports it was an awesome
time and thoroughly enjoyed her
experience.
Helen Brenie has returned from a
holiday in Montreal. While there, a
family reunion was held and all her
family was in attendance, daughter
Valerie and new son Jaime from
Edmonton, Carol and family from
Montreal, Stephanie and family
from Cornwall and son Christopher
and family from Montreal. They had
family pictures done and had a
marvellous time catching up with
each others' news.

family holidaying and•visiting with
them last week. Daughter Patricia
and husband Eddy and son
Sebastian from Whitby spent a_ few
days with them. Coming on Sunday
for a visit from Cambridge was son
Dean and wile Kelly.
Some local men away fishing
were Don Dalton, Kelly Dalton and
Les Glanville. They travelled north
to near Sturgeon Falls where Les has
a cabin. it is reported that Don
caught the biggest fish with his dad
Percy's oldest Wiing rod.
They also attended a birthday

fishing was good.
Returning from two week's
holiday on the Skootamaita Lake

Tuchlinsky and family. They
enjoyed fishing and walking the
nature trails and having a peaceful
and restful vacation.
Joan had to return early but for
pleasant reasons. She enjoyed a
day's visit with three of her theology
classmates at her home. They joined
her from Dundas, Mississauga and
Waterloo. The spent the day
catching up with each other's
Ministerial goals.
Not on holiday but celebrating
were Don and Pat Nolan as they
attended their son Mark's wedding
to Lori Boyes. The wedding was
held at the home of the bride's
parents at Whiskey Harbour. The
couple exchanged vows on top of
the hill surrounded by beautiful
perennial gardens as guests
witnessed the ceremony from a
decorated tent.
A delicious meal and fireworks
followed the nuptials and reception.
Many Walton people were in
attendance to celebrate the couple's
happy day. They will be living in
Gowanstown. Congratulations to
Mark and Lori.
The population of Walton
increased by eight this week from
Thursday to Monday morning as
four local Walton families had
pilgrims here for the World Youth
Days. Gerry and Anne Ryan hosted
two young men from Oxfordshire
England, Simon and Robert. As their
activities were planned by the area
churches for Friday and Saturday,
Sunday was the free day for families
to entertain the guests. The young
men had said they had been to
London, England and would like to
see London, Ontario, Canada. So off
they went and while in London they
went to the [max Theatre.
Margaret Lacroix had two young
university students from Italy,
Giovannia Angelo and Giovanni
Paolo. Their English was limited but
sign language works well.
Across the street at Jeanne
Kirkby's was another young Italian
man, Bendetta. These young men
had the opportunity to travel to
Niagara Falls with a teacher who
lives in Belgrave arid speaks Italian.
He volunteered to take six young
people to see the sights of Niagara.
He also was an interpreter at the
Sunday morning mass held at St.
Ambrose. Catholic Church, Brussels.
Some of the Italians had brought
their guitars and celebrated their joy
during the mass.
A brunch was served following
the service.
At the home of Jack and Marianna
Ryan were three young ladies from
Mexico, Claudia, Daffney and
Claudia. The Ryan children came
home to help entertain the ladies and
help with the language problems.
They were taken to Goderich on
Sunday to see the area and the mall.
They were excited to be able to use
the internet and send messages to
their parents and friends from the
Ryan home.
After speaking with the host
families the conclusion was it was
an enjoyable experience.
The Tite Racing Promotions crew
was off to Barrie the last two
Saturdays to promote Supercross at
the Barrie Agriculture grounds. The
Lee family_ promoted the event
which is done on a small track with
tight corners and turns and sharp
hills and hollows. Joining them to
flag and work were Brandon Blake,
Robbie Semple, Jeff Black and Dave
McClory.
Don't forget this is the last week
of holidays for Duff's United
Church and Joan will be leading
service again on Sunday, Aug. 4 at
9:30 a.m.

undergone a complete changeover
with new paint and carpet. Come out
and see how nice it looks.

students
study
Franklin
books
The Walton Little School student,
have been busy studying Franklin
books. After reading they do
Franklin activities in math and
science class.
There are plenty of children who
are away on holidays right now so
numbers at the school are down
slightly from normal. They are
trying to go out early in the day for
outside activities to beat the
heat.
Ontario Provincial Police Sr.
Const. Don Shropshall was in to
visit with the children recenity. He
spoke to them about the Hug A Tree
program.
This program deals with when a
child is lost they should Stop and
stay-where they are and hug a tree or
something solid until theyare found,
not to keep wandering.
He gave out stickers and colouring
books and the children enjoyed his
visit very much.
