A NOTE FROM BETTY
Well Mother Nature is showing
her severe side this summer. The
heat and moisture levels have hit a
scary point and once again we are
reminded that as humans we have
very little control of the big issues in
life. We can only wait and wonder
just when some rain will arrive. Will
the beans be okay and will the corn
tassel? It's humbling just to wonder.
Several area families had time to
visit with neighbours as they waited
for their Pilgrims last Thursday. The
Catholic Church in Wingham was
the pickup point and when the news
came of .a delayed arrival — lots of
chatter was enjoyed for awhile.
But, when the hour became late
Plan B was put into effect and the
Pipe and Franken bus service was
born. Alma, Agnes, Joan and Alice
thank you for letting them get their
sleep. Schedules to show and tell and
feed and learn were used to keep our
Catholic friends on track. But it was
good to note that a child's soccer ball
and a bathroom can still stop the best
laid plans. Please note that the ball
and the bathroom were not the same
incident.
Chances are getting slim to pick

Comfort
From left: Huronlea Auxiliary Past President Audrey Cardiff, Secretary Yvonne Knight and
President Jim Armstrong take resident Alex MacLeod outside to enjoy some sunshine in the
new 0-foam comfort push wheelchair purchased by the Auxiliary for the home. The funds for
the $3,000 chair were raised through Auxiliary teas, memorial donations and the support of
Take Heart Huron. The Auxiliary is always looking for new members to assist them in their
contribution to Huronlea residents. Also, the home is grateful to those who have offered
financial support through memorial donations. (Bonnie Gropp photo)
Kids Corner — do it today! We need
to plan people and food for the Aug.
5 - 9 program named, Shipwrecks
and Dreams. High school folks — just
let us know your talents and we can
sign for some of your needed
volunteer hours. But for all those
thinking of helping call Jill Sholdice.
This program is supported by the
five denominations and with water
as our mission project (kids'
collection) it seems very timely.
Enjoy your week — I know I will.
