Council responds to bylaw objection
In response to a letter of objection
from Donna Stute regarding the
sw nun jug pool bylaw, Morris-
Turnberry council agreed at the July 2
meeting. to. consider an amend-
ment.
The amendment will state, "The fee
will remain $100 for the first time a
pool is erected. There will be no
further fee or permit required if the
pool and fence are removed for storage
and erected in the same location the
following year.-

Council had no comment on the
draft forestry bylaw.

A bylaw to revise the current MDS
(minimum distance separations)
requirements and incorporate setbacks
in regards to the establishment of the
manure storage facilities for Turnberry
Ward was passed.
Council also passed bylaws
regarding requirements recommended
to be incorporated at the time of
consideration of a new nutrient
management bylaw and regulations for
manure pit and manure management,
Muriel Coultes, Belgrave,
attended the 40th anniversary
celebrations of United Church
Women, held at the University of
Manitoba, Winnipeg, July 4-7.
Two hundred and fifty women
for both wards.

Council supported the linefence
resolution, in agreement with the-
Association of Municipalities of
Ontario.

Support was also given to
resolutions from: County of Bruce
regarding the disposal of septic tanks
and -.liquid waste; Brockville, lottery
schemes; Woodstock, increasing the
minimum wage in Ontario; Township
of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield, public
fire safety guidelines and Minto,
restriction of bait fish harvest.

Approval was given for the payment
of general accounts in the amount of
$352,254.95, restructuring accounts of
$3,568.75 and the Belgrave Park for
$34.20.
Road accounts totalling $148,619.39
were approved.

During the recreation board portion
of the meeting,, council approved
payment of the recreation accounts in
the amount of $4,000. •

The annual memorial service of
Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave was
held on Sunday, July 7 at 2 p.m.
There was a good attendance on a
lovely afternoon.
Rev. Cathrine Campbell of Knox
Presbyterian Church was in charge
of the service. Elizabeth Procter
played the music for the hymns. Ivy
Cloakey and Freda Scott read
scripture.
Correction
Due to incorrect information, a
student in the East Wawanosh Public
School graduation photo in the July 2
issue-of The Citizen was inadvertently
misnamed in the cutline.
Ellen Cook should have been Ellen
Procter.
