PAGE 20. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26, 2002.
Grey Twp. firefighters held ,their
annual breakfast this past Sunday.
Chief Calvin Semple estimates that
approximately 650 hungry people
came out to eat and show their sup-
port for the guys.
Calvin mentioned that the fire
department is very thankful to the
community for such a great turnout
and the fun morning.
I would like to add a personal
thank you to the wives, partners and
daughters of the firefighters for their
hard work in making events such as
the breakfast a success. Although
the wives of firefighters with young
families find it difficult to help out,
we' greatly appreciate the women -
who are there clearing and wiping
tables, cooking and serving. A spe-
cial thank you to Paige Keffer who,
every time I saw her, was carrying
big foil pans of potato patties from
the cooks to the servers. Great job!
Happy anniversary to George and
Isobel Pearson who celebrated 56
• ry
years of marriage this past weekend.
Congratulations to Bill and Cindy
Van Nes on the arrival of their
daughter, Grace. Miss Van Nes was
born on June 7. Best wishes!
Ethel hosted their annual ball tour-
nament this past weekend. I didn't
participate but the whoops and
hollers sure Sounded exciting! I
hope a good time was had by all.
Grey Central students will be out
of school this week for the summer.
Here's wishing all the children a
safe and happy summer! Have a
great week!
