Note: The over-80 birthday party
was reported but with an incorrect
date. It will be held July 31 at 2 p.m.
in the basement of the United
Church, Belgrave.
Helen Wilson of London and
Robert Thompson of Wingham
visited Sunday afternoon at the home
of Betty Irwin.
15 members and eight guests.
The program convenor Dorothy
Coultes introduced Ashley and
Laura Higgins who each did a tap-
dancing number.
The speaker was Bethanee Jensen
who talked of her business, The
Shepherd's Fold, located just east of
Belgrave.
Bethanee grew up on a farm but
started in the workforce as an
accountant. Soon she was able to
start sheep farming on a 34-acre
farm and took a sheep management
course, starting with Suffolks.
Later she decided that Dorsets
were a better breed for her and she
moved to her present location. She
received a lot of help from local
farmers in the beginning and is now
able to help others in return.
She has taught 4-H clubs and is
now president of the Ontario Lamb
Producers.
She had sheepskin rugs and
woolen blankets on display. She also
sells meat and breeding stock.
During the business meeting the
members were reminded of the
catering scheduled for July and
August. The collection and Pennies
for Friendship were gathered.
Lunch was served by Norma
Moore and Dianna Robinson.
