Council is considering the paving
of two blocks of McConnell Street in
Blyth as recommended by
Thompson:
While council had budgeted
$15,000 for work on Thuell and
North Streets, Thompson said that
having had a better look since the
snow has left McConnell would be a
better place to spend the money than
Thuell Street.
He also noted that while Hamilton
Street was perhaps in worse
condition, it still needs the water
service rebuilt so there would be no
point in doing the paving at this
time.
***
Work on North Street is to begin
the second week in July, Thompson
said.

Greeting at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, June 23 were Mary Lou
and John Stewart. Guest speaker
was Pat Malliken as Rev. Eugen
Bannerman is on holidays. Guest
musician was Margaret Kai..
Pat started out her message by
referring to a children's book,
"Johnathan had a bad day." The
world has had a bad week with
floods and earthquakes and unrest in
many countries.
She concluded that if all could
find just a little thing to be happy
about in life this would start a good
day for everyone.
