K. Roberts hosts Afternoon UCW
The Afternoon Unit of the UCW
met on June 11 at the home of Kay.
Roberts. She welcomed everyone
and gave a reading entitled,
Woodlands Cathedral.
Ada Taylor conducted the worship
Mabel's Moms met at their
regular time on Wednesday, June 12.
Those who attended were
beginning with a short history of the
origin of Father's Day which began
in 1910. The meditation was
entitled, Orchids and Ants.
Lois Chamney gave the treasurer's
report. Audrey Fenton presented the
Crystal Agombar. Nicholas, Gage
and Curtis Weber; Donna Raynard,
Curtis and Craig; Sandra Weber,
Owen. Brock and Mason; Lila
Procter, Linda Hess and Judith;
Melissa Coultes and Alex.
Their topic was Rules and
Regulations for Volunteers.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby and
Laura Johnston attended the
graduation on Wednesday, June 12
of their granddaughter Erin
Johnston daughter of George and
Mary Johnston of Ilderton.
Erin received an Honours
Bible Study which was a review of
chapter 20 of the book of Matthew.
Mrs. Chamney was in charge of
the study and chose as her subject,
Aids in Africa which told of a
desperate need for help.
Bachelor of Commerce degree with
a major in Hotel and Food
Administration from the University
of Guelph.
She has accepted a full-time
position at Langdon Hall,
Cambridge.
Weekend visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Grasby were Donna
and Gary and Jeff Leitch of London;
George and Mary and Erin Johnston
and Kyle Young of Ilderton, Julie,
Zachary, Ethan and Sarah Hobgood
of Mission, Texas and Laura
Johnston.
Mrs. Roberts closed the meeting
with the benediction and a social
time followed.
12 tables
at shoot
There were 12 tables of shoot in
play at the Community Centre on
Friday, June 14.
Winners were: high lady, Kay
McCormick; second high lady,
Carol Daer; most shoots, Jane
Grasby; low lady, Ada Taylor; high
man, Neil Johnston; second high
man, Stuart Chamney; most shoots,
Jim Coultes; low man, Richard
Moore.
This was the last shoot until the
autumn.
