Bible study group bids farewell
FROM AUBURN
On Tuesday, June I I Bible Study
began with a delicious turkey dinner
at Stickers Restaurant. Rev. and Mrs.
Paul Ross were the guests as the
group will certainly miss them. We
have not only learned more but
enjoyed our Bible lessons.
After first course members went to
Lois Haines' home, where a farewell
cake, made by Carol McDowell, was
enjoyed.
In ist Samuel 27-29 David is
afraid and leaves the Philistines'
territory. He becomes a servant to a
king of Gath who has complete trust
in him.
Beth Knox who has been a
member of the Bible Study since its
beginning told Rev. Ross how much
the members have enjoyed and
learned from his Bible Study
through the years. She said they
would miss him at Bible Study and
in the pulpit and on his pastoral
visits.
Tena Empey and Ethel Ball
handed him a gift from the group.
Rev. Paul Ross opened the well-
wrapped package and found a small
desk or shelf clock for his office. He
thanked everyone saying he knew it
would be put to use in his new
office.
We all wish him happiness in his
new work.
Via television I went to St.
Andrews' church service in
Kitchener on •Sunday. They must
have known I was going to listen as
the service was massed choirs and
scripture. Needless to say I enjoyed
every minute of it.
Birds are still coming to the
feeders raining or not, however they
look different when all wet. A blue
jay was feeding this morning and it
took me a minute or so to be sure it
was a jay. I had to use binoculars to
see a female grosbeak, her colour
seemed so different but I knew she
had the grosbeak bill.
An indigo bunting looks much
darker when wet.
I have an ear of corn stuck on a
nail on the deck railing and have
discovered that pesky little
chipmunks are also enjoying it.
They are often both in and under the
big feeder.
