Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Veal trades $245 higher at Friday's sale Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending May 31 were 2,213 head of cattle, 577 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, the fed steers and heifers sold at prices $2 higher. The cows also traded $2 higher. On Thursday the veal traded $2 to $5 higher. The lambs sold on a lower market. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a strong active trade. There were 366 steers on offer selling from $102 to $108 with sales to $115.50. Cunningham Farms, Lucan, consigned one red steer weighing 1,270 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meats for $115. Their overall offering of twenty-six steers averaged 1,443 lbs. for an average, price of $105.89. Two limousin steers consigned by Clarence W. Martin, Mount Forest, averaged 1,245 lbs. and sold for $115. His overall offering of twenty-one steers averaged 1,250 lbs. selling for an average of $108.06. John Glousher, Wingham, consigned five steers averaging 1,408 lbs. selling for an average of $107.79 with his top black heifer weighing 1,420 lbs. selling to Dominion Meats for $114.50. Their overall offering of eleven- steers averaged 1,598 lbs. selling for an average of $102.27. There were 179 heifers on offer selling from $102 to $108 with sales to $114. One limousin heifer consigned by Decroft Farms Ltd., Clinton, weighed 1,020 lbs. which was purchased by Highland Packers Ltd. for $113.50. Their overall offering of nine heifers averaged 1,258 lbs. for an average of $108.68. His overall offering of four cows averaged 1,419 lbs. selling for an average of $75.91. Adam Weber, Holyrood, consigned one simmental cow weighing 1,535 lbs. which sold for $78. There were eight bulls on offer selling from $71.50 to $83.50 with sales to $90. Harry Hardy, Lucan, consigned one blonde bull weighing 1,975 lbs. which sold to Levinoff Meat Products for $90. One limousin bull consigned by James L. Taylor, Wingham, weighed 1,910 lbs. selling to Aylmer Meat Packers for $83.50. There were 155 head of veal on offer. Beef sold $104 to $137.50; Holstein, $85 to $98; Plain Holstein, $70 to $85. Mark and Paul Pennington, Mildmay, consigned one limousin veal heifer weighing 675 lbs. which sold to Norval Meat Packers for $137.50. His overall consignment of five veal calves averaged 700 lbs. for an average price of $105.98. One simmental veal heifer consigned by John L. Miller, Lucknow; weighed 690 lbs. and sold for $124.50. Eric Nonkes, Auburn, consigned one red veal steer weighing 705 lbs. which sold to Norval Meat Packers for $122.50. Lambs, under 50 lbs. sold $95 to $120; 50 - 64 lbs., $85 to $122.50; 65 - 79 lbs., $95 to $112; 80 - 94 lbs., $88 to $105; 95 - 109 lbs., $89 to $94; 110 lbs. and over, $86 to $105. Goats sold $20 to $147.50. Sheep sold $15 to $32.
