PAGE 21. The Canadian Cancer Society canvas in Belgrave and surrounding area was very successful again this year. A total of $3,850 was raised thanks to- the generosity of the people in the community and the dedication of the 18 volunteers who canvassed the area. Ross and Barbara Anderson spent a few days in Guelph last week visiting with Sheila and Doug Cousins and family. While there they helped celebrate their granddaughter Jordyn's fifth birthday and attended their grandson Brandon's soccer game. May Rion is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. The community of friends and neighbours wish her a speedy recovery with improved health. Mabel's Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, May 22. Those who attended were Crystal Agombar, Nicholas and Gage; Curtis and Craig Raynard and Linda Hess and Judith. Their topic was Childhood Safety. The church service at Knox United Church will be conducted by the United Church Women on Sunday, June .2. It is the 40th anniversary of the UCW. 9 tables at euchre There were nine tables of euchre in play on Wednesday, May 22 in the Women's Institute Hall. Winners were: high lady, Louise Schiestel; second high lady, Lois Chamney; lone hands, Louise Bosman; low lady, Ada Taylor; high man, Irlma Edgar; second high man, Joe Spintzig; lone hands, Stuart Musgrove; low man, Laura Johnston. The next euchre is Wednesday, May 29 at 8 p.m. There were nine tables of shoot in play on Friday, May 24.
