Congregants enjoy service of laughter
Special ministers for the May 26
service at Knox United Church,
Auburn were Bugsy and Snippity —
two clowns. They presented, God's
Gift of Love-and Laughter.
They opened by speaking on
God's gift in the word of God. The
opening hymn, He's Got the Whole
World in His Hands was acted out as
it was sung.
They then spoke on, The Stony
Heart. It would be a very sad world
for everyone if we had hearts of
stone and always looked on the
wrong side of everything.
They spoke of Jesus walking on
water. Some of the disciples thought
it was a spirit and were afraid. Jesus
said, "Be of good cheer — it is I."
Then, He told Peter to walk to
him. He began then was afraid and
cried "Lord, save me" which Jesus
did by stretching His hand to him.
Walking with Jesus was then sung.
They continued with, The Empty
Heart. What a terrible life we would
live if we could not see all the
beauty, wonders and magnificence
that God made in this world to live
in. Jesus Loves Me was then sung.
They spoke on, Sin Separates,
Jesus Restores. People can take the
wrong road but Christ is always
there to put one back on the correct
track. Give sins go Jesus, they said
and He will lead the way. A prayer of
thanks was given by the clowns.
Give Us to Laughter was
followed by a reading on hap-
piness.
