THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2002. Roeteisoenders greet at Knox United Knox United Church met on May 19 with Mr'S. G. Gross as organist. Rev. Paul Ross gave words of welcome and the opening chorus was sung. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. H. Roetcisoender. When the children came to the front Rev. Ross removed a toy plane from the mystery bag. He turned the propeller and the children were able to feel the blowing air. He spoke to the children about the air that blows in the trees, gardens and on them — something that cannot be seen or grasped in one's hand. It is one of God's wonderful mysteries. Rev. Ross read from Acts 2: 1-21. On the day of the Pentecost people were filled with the spirit of God and were given unexpected abilities speaking in various languages. Those who trusted in the Lord were saved. Scripture from John 7: 37-39 was on Jesus telling people that if they believed in Him the living waters will flow. Rev. Ross spoke on Feeling the Spirit. This is the Holy Spirit which was and is given to those who trust and follow God. He told of a crowd on the Pentecost day. A sound from Heaven came and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in foreign tongues. Peter told them that God can do numerous things, miracles, wonders and signs are given to people. Rev. Ross spoke about God's spirit calling him to leave this area. So though he enjoys the churches here God has called him and he will go where God calls. Knox United should have a laughable service on May 26 as Children's Aid Society Clown Alley will be the guest for, Give us Laughter. Knox UCW will have Nathan Tasker as guest speaker for their meeting at 8 p.m. on May 27. He will speak on cerebral palsy. FROM AUBURN M.
