family benefit evening for Jason
Badley. The organizers appreciate

communion of their niece Jericia
Hakkers, daughter of Jerry and
Cathy Hakkers of London.

on Sunday, April 28 were Lois van
Vliet and Lorna Fraser. Guest
musician was Margaret Kai.
Rev. Eugen Bannerman welcomed
everyone to a service of
confirmation, baptism, church
membership and communion.
The confirmation class, Amanda
Bearss, Gordon Brigham, Bethany
Kresky, Jeremy Kresky, Nicole
Meier and Stephanie Sanderson,
recited 12 different shields of the
Apostles.
Each one of the membership class
read a list of women disciples. The
members of this class were Karen
Bernard, Jud Hakkers, Donna
Johnston, Rob Mason, Rob
Middelkamp, Bonnie Stewart and
Mary Lou Stewart assisting. The
confirmation texts were read by
Amanda Bearss and Bethany
Kersky, Gordon Brigham and
Bethany Kerskey, Jeremy Kersky,
Nicole Meier and Stephanie
Sanderson and Amanda Bearss.
Bethany Kersky sang a solo Shine
Jesus Shine and Diane Howson led
the group in The Lord's Prayer in
American sign language.
Those professing their faith were
Bonnie Stewart and Jud Hakkers.
Adult baptism was Jud Hakkers.
Profession of Faith and the act of
confirmation and the laying on of
hands were Amanda Bearss and
Frances Bearss, Gordon Brigham
and Pat Brigham, Bethany Kersky
and Kay and Mike Weber, Jeremy
Kersky and Brad and Ericia Mohr,
Stephanie Sanderson and Elmer
Sanderson.
Those joining the church by

Just desserts
Grade 8 students at Blyth Public School got their just
desserts last week when they were treated to ice-cream
sundaes as reward for being the top class in magazine

Dungannon Seniors guests
The Blyth Swinging Seniors met
at the Memorial Hall at 1 p.m. for a
dessert luncheon. The Dungannon
Seniors were guests.
A short meeting followed with
President Isabelle Craig in charge
and Elva Brown at the piano.
Ferne McDowell was the only
April birthday celebrant.
The minutes were read by the
assistant secretary, Ferne McDowell.
Four from Blyth will be playing
euchre in Lucan on May 2.
Jean Nethery reminded members
about the bus trip to Petrolia on Aug.
8. After lunch they will be enjoying
a matinee performance in the
Victoria Playhouse of Peggy and
Grace. Supper will be at Exeter
Trivitt Memorial Church.
The share-the-wealth draw
winners were Joanne McDonald,
Jean Errington and Bernice Pierce.
A report was given on the spring
rally held at Dungannon on April 18.
Ten Members attended from Blyth.
Thirteen clubs were represented and
all gave a three-minute report.
At noon a lovely luncheon was
served and entertainment followed.
Two guest speakers from
Cambridge gave information and
showed displays of their six weeks
spent in Ghana, Africa.
The Londesboro Seniors will host
the fall rally on Oct. 17 at the Betty
Cardno Centre, Clinton.
Euchre and lost heir followed.
