AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board in respect of the By-law by filing with the Clerk of the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, not later than the 14th day of May, 2002, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons in support of the objection and accompanied by payment of the fee prescribed under the Ontario Municipal Board Act. AMOUNT OF FEE payable on appeal is $125.00. AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-law and describing the lands to which the by-law applies, are provided below. The complete by-law is available at the Municipal Office during regular office hours. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a zoning by- law to the Ontario Municipal Board. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. The junior choir of Cassandra Banks, and Bethany and Laura Black, sang There'll Be Sunshine in the Morning. The Clerk of Session, Leona McDonald, read the names of the children to be presented for baptism. Reagan Nicole, daughter of Cameron and Donna Blair, the granddaughter of Lavern and Marion Godkin; had many of her aunts and uncles and cousins watching her being baptized. They gathered at Lavern and Marion's for a family lunch and social time after church. Mackenzie Jean, daughter of Robert and Sandra Sangster, and Jackson William, son of Murray Sholdice and Janice Gregory, are the grandchildren of the late Mack and Dorothy Sholdice. They had many of their family members attending, with special guest great-grandma Jean Keyes of Seaforth. They were all 'invited to Sandra's home in Seaforth for lunch and a social time. Murray and Janice make their home in London and it was a pleasure to The Walton Women's Institute gathered on Wednesday for its annual meeting. The 10 ladies enjoyed dinner at JR's before going to the Maple Villa common room with hostess Betty McCall. They discussed the business and upcoming plant and bake sale at the Walton Inn on May 17 before conducting the installation of officers. Installing Officer was Edna McLellan. -The executive is: By Jo-Ann McDonald The week started off at the Brussels Legion with a meeting upstairs hosted by Brussels Agri- Services. It dealt with getting horses ready for spring. Feeding, nutrition and horseshoeing were topics addressed by guest speakers. Thursday night darts had only a small crowd out as the good weather must have enticed people to be at home. Friday night's supper of pork chops was enjoyed by a good crowd. This week's menu includes meat loaf and broasted potatoes. The Huron County double darts was hosted by the Branch on Saturday afternoon with over 60 men competing. The winners were Andy Adams and partner Ticker Mero. The turnout for the cleaning on Saturday morning was very poor. We need to have one more day to get the rest done, but we will wait for a couple of weeks. Good news. Doreen Rutledge is out of hospital and home. Gerald reports that she is coming along nicely. More good news is that Joan Warner and new son Thomas have also come home from the hospital. Comrade President Glenn Bridge attended the District Convention in Hespeler on Saturday and Sunday as did Deputy District Commander Eric Ross. They participated in meetings as well as the parade and cenotaph service to observe the Act of Remembrance and silence for the fallen Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. see them all again. Emma Jean, the daughter of Dan and Sherri Taylor, had many of her extended family members in attendance for her baptism. Her special guests were great-grandma and grandpa Bob and Muriel McLachlan from Seaforth. Family and special guests were invited to the Taylor's home for lunch and the afternoon. Following the sacrament of baptism the regular service continued with Jim Cook as the scripture reader. Joan Tuchlinsky's reflection, Learning the Shepherd's Voice, concerned how a faith community must strive to hear the Lord's voice. The earliest images of Christ, depicted him as a shepherd, and Christians would know his voice and follow him in God's love. Parents and a church congregation, through the baptismal vows, promise to help children grow in faith and to listen for God's voice. The choir sang the anthem Oh God of Life. The offering was taken by Ross Bennett and Jim Mann. This Sunday's greeters will be secretary-treasurer, Marjory Humphries; caterer, Ruth Axtmann; PRO, Brenda Perrie; Tweedsmuir curator, Marion Godkin. Convenors of the standing committees are: agriculture, Marion Godkin; business and industry, Mary Humphries; citizenship, culture, community, Brenda Perrie, Lois Schneider; education, Ruth Axtmann; health, Margaret Mclnroy; Many members of the Branch attended the buck and doe for Comrade Andy Overholt and Sarah Dauphin at the arena on Saturday evening. At least one happy member on Don and Monique Baan. Joining in the service will be Nancy Corrigan and the congregation will be exploring the ministry of Diakonia, or service; a ministry that belongs to all of us who bear the name Christian. The quilt that was on display at the front of the church is now hanging on the east wall of the sanctuary. St. Ambrose Catholic Church dinner and auction is taking place Friday, April 26 at BM&G area. Funds raised will go to support World Youth Days in the parish. For info call Don or Pat Nolan 887- 6402. Sunday, May 5 will be Bearing Faithful Witness: A service and after-church opportunity to discuss and give suggestions about the Revised Proposed Statement. Brian Black will be leading the discussion on the document that explored the issues of Jewish-Christian relationships. The United Church wants to move forward to a public theological statement with input from all United Church boards or sessions. Craig; FWIO, FWIC, ACWW, Marjory Humphries; financial examiners, Lois Schneider, Brenda Perrie. Ten members answered the roll call by paying their dues. Members were reminded about the Women's Institute Church Seniice at Gorrie on April 28 at 9:45 a.m. The District annual is May 14 at Ethel. Saturday was Comrade Helen Brenie as she won the membership draw. Let's see the membership out for the elections on Monday night, April 29 at 8 p.m. upstairs.
