THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2002. Good food It may not have felt much like spring, but that didn't stop anyone from coming out to enjoy the delicious food served at Melville Presbyertian Church's spring supper on Sunday night. (Vicky Bremner photo) Well darn. There's snow on the daffodils. It was just starting to feel alright, a little warmth in the air. Oh well once again we're reminded that we don't control the world or the weather and once again that's a good thing. It's good to see the Boyntons out and about. They spent a little while with Jeff and Nicole in High River, Alberta and yes it was cold there too. The kids are fine and busy, of course. And Jeanette survived the flight. Sunday afternoon in Blyth United Church showed a happy crowd enjoying trumpet music, laughter, advice and conversation .in this afternoon Covenanting Service with Huron Perth Presbytery, Blyth United Church congregation and Rev. Dr. Eugen Bannerman. Welcome to Huron, Eugen we know you'll fit right in and enjoy our area. Spring brings out the fun and fundraisers and this past weekend was a busy one. The organizers know a good thing and so it is repeated until we're all pretty full. Good food, a little music, lots of chatter and a good cause are the recipe for a spring fundraiser, The Maitland Conservation May is Cystic Fibrosis Month The Zellers Friends of the Family Walk for Cystic Fibrosis is being held Sunday, May 26 If you are interested in being a sponsor call Lisa Fritz 887-9858 Foundation played host at the BM&G Centre on Friday night to an enthusiastic crowd and their investments are now healthier. On Saturday the Youth Group at the Brussels United Church gave us a fashion show with a mission theme, provided us with lots of music, showed us magic and of course fed us and auctioned us out of our money. Good time and good work group. The Presbyterian Church held their spring supper on Sunday following the rules of good food and a good time. Part of the appeal of the spring gatherings is that the winter boots can be left at home giving a sense of light and freedom; The organizers of ball and soccer would like to hear from you if you have some time to spend with them. Coaches, taxis, referees are always needed. You'll enjoy the change. Bye now, Betty G.W.
