Catered by women of the Londesboro

replace Harry Lear as secretary next
season.
Later 33 bowlers went to the
Clinton Crown Lanes for a fun night
of bowling. Monetary prizes were
given for the evening's bowling
winners. Fourteen bowlers received
awards from the alley for perfect
attendance.
Happy
Gang

The Happy Gang Seniors Club of
Londesboro hosted its 'monthly
euchre party at the Londesboro Hall
on Friday, April 12. There were 15
1/2 tables in play.
The high score of 76 points was a
tie between Keith and Phyllis
Tyndall and Cliff and Kay Watson.
Third prize was won by the
Applebys with 74 points.
The highest number of lone hands
at seven was also a tie shared by
Lorna Ellis and Eileen .Kuenzig and
Frank and Kay Baer.
Honesty is the virtue under
discussion of Hullett Central Public
School this week of April 15 - 19.
Anne Wilson Schaef offers this for
consideration: "Honesty is
contagious, just like dishonesty is
contagious. We need more honesty in
the world."
Molly Horbanuik has submitted
this report about the school's curling
team:
Six students from our school
enjoyed learning about curling this
winter from coaches Brian and Julie
Falconer._ We curled in the Junior
division at the Vanastra Curling Club
on Thursday nights The team entered
The message at Londesboro
United Church on Sunday, April 14
was titled Walking with Jesus.
Greeting churchgoers were Edythe
Beacom and Betty Fisher. Receiving
the offering were Mel and Barb
Knox.
Rev. 'Paul Ross's storybag
contained a music tape which the
children suggested he put in the tape
player. The children formed a line
across the front of the sanctuary to
listen to the tape and do the dance
steps it suggested, two steps
forward, one step back.
This On the Jesus Track song
reminded everyone that when one
walks with Jesus, one does move
ahead in Christianity despite
occasional setbacks.
In First Peter 1: 17-23 Christians
are instructed that in their time of
exile from God (or their time on
earth), they should live in reverent
respect (or fear) of Him.
On the first Easter morning, as
two early Christians were walking to
Emmaus, they spoke of recent
events. When Christ joined them,
they did not know Him.
The text for the sermon came from
that Luke 24: 13-35 story of how
different competitions as well as the
weekly spiels.
One bonspiel was held in Wingham
against other local teams. Another
was sponsored by the Vanastra Club
and, along with Hullett, learns were
entered from Goderich, Seaforth,
Wingham, Clinton and Niagara Falls,
the team which won.
The biggest bonspiel our team
entered was the Tim Horton's
Elementary Bonspiel held this year in
Chesley. It ran from Thursday until
Sunday with over 80 teams
participating. Other schools in this
area who also attended were Huron
Centennial, Holmesville and Seaforth
Jesus walked with them along their
journey.
The question was asked, "what
does it mean to say we are walking
with Jesus?" Those who walk with
Jesus, have chosen to live by God's
commandments, in God's way. This
is to say, they are totally present with
God 24/7.
Rev. Ross suggests this "walk
with Jesus" means Christians do no
harm, seeking justice for one and all,
loving kindness and walking humbly
with God.
Christians believe in life after
death, the power of forgiveness, and
the knowledge that with Jesus as
travelling companion, guide and
friend, they can overcome the rough
times.
Londesboro UCW will meet on
Monday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. for
dessert. Darryl Ball will be the guest
speaker that evening.
Next Sunday being the annual
pulpit exchange for Huron-Perth
Presbytery, Rev. Wayne Beamer of
Wingham United Church, will be in
Londesboro's pulpit.
Senior choir members take note.
The next practice will be Sunday,
April 28 at 10 a.m.
Public School.
Each team was in a division with
four other teams with whom they
played a round-robin series. The team
with the most points went on to play
other divisions.
We did quite well, winning four of
five games. Each team member
received a jacket as well as other
smaller items just for participating in
a sport we enjoy.
On Friday night of the spiel there
was an opening ceremony when all
the teams were piped onto the ice
surface displaying their school
banner — just like the Olympics.
Prizes were awarded for the best
banners.
Prizes -were also awarded for the
skills competition which was held
after the first game of curling.
