THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2002. PAGE 15.
After the Easter morning service,
the congregation of Huron Chapel
Evangelical Missionary Church in
Auburn gathered in the sanctuary of
their new, partially completed
church for a time of praise and
prayer to celebrate a milestone in
the life of the church.
Last Easter the congregation met
on this site for a sod-turning
ceremony. Much has happened
throughout the year. Oveta the past

up to bring another Day of Caring to
our community.
Students from across the county
will be volunteering their time to
help other people in the area. The

community-based, outdoor projects:
• If you are a senior and have a
task that you need help with,
perhaps some lawn or garden work.
• Are you a service agency or
service club and have an activity
you need help with?
If you have a project call Huron

community friends have been
volunteering their time and talents
to erect the 16,000 square foot
structure. The work is ongoing.
The design includes a
gymnasium, Sunday school rooms
and a fellowship room on the
ground floor with a walk-out
basement. The sanctuary on the
main floor is planned to seat 300
which will more than double the
seating of the current building.
A fundraising evening of gospel
music is planned for April 12 at the
Blyth Memorial Hall with proceeds
going towards the building. Music
by two quartets, Reunion and A Sure
Foundation will entertain. Local
talent, Deb, Darlene, Calvin and Jim
will also perform that evening.
Tickets are available by calling

the door, $30 per family, $35 at the
