Nominate that special person for the 17th Annual Citizen Citizenship Awards. Each year a committee chooses an,,outstanding citizen from each of the Blyth and area and Brussels and area communities to receive an award for contribution to the community. Obituaries GLENNA STEPHENS Glenna (Campbell) Stephens of Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2002. She was in her 104th year. Born in Bentick County on Oct. 22, 1898, Glenna was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Russell George Stephens who predeceased_her in 1966. Glenna will be sadly missed by her children Dorothy Higgins of Toronto, Dr. Jim Stephens and his wife Betty of Waterloo, Isabel Pelloux and her husband Regis of Winchester, Massachusetts, and Glenna Caldwell and her husband Austin of New Brunswick. She was the dear mother- in-law of Dr. Ruth Stephens of London. Mrs. Stephens was also loved by her 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Dr. Russell Stephens. At Glenna's request there will be no funeral home visitation or service. Cremation with interment of cre- mated remains will be in Wiarton Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations of either volunteering of time or memorial donations to the Huronlea Home for the Aged Auxiliary would be appreciated. ROUSE He went home to be with his Lord, with loving family members by his side, Saturday, March 9, 2002 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound. Wayne E. Rouse of Lake Eugenia, formerly of Blyth and Markdale, was in his 68th year. He was the beloved husband of. Bonna (Goodwill). He was the dear father of Beth McKellar and her hus- band John of Burnaby, B.C. and Kathie/ passmore and her husband Patrio?of Hanover. He was the lov- ing grandfather of Stephanie and Dean Young and Matthew McKellar. He will be sadly missed by sister Bernadette Tigert of Lion's Head, and brothers Ken Rouse and Ken Wright and his wife Rosemary, all of Waterloo and several nieces and nephews. Friends called at tne May Funeral Home, Markdale, Monday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. where a funeral service was held Tuesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Charles Gingerich officiating and Mr. Thomas Oliver assisting. Garnet Goodwill gave a eulogy. Stephanie' Young read a message from Beth McKellar. Wanda Sparling sang the hymn Safe in the Arms of Jesus accompanied by Annette Esau on the piano. Pallbearers were Bob Scott, Bruce Bromley, Dave Sweiger, Chris Wright, Jonathan Rouse and Sean Goodwill. Stephanie Young, Dean Young, Becky Rouse, Lynette Taylor, Barbara Sinclair and Andrew Wright carried floral tributes. Spring interment will be in Markdale Cemetery. After the service, relatives and friends joined the family for a lunch- eon served by the Rock Mills Baptist Church Ladies at Annesley Fellowship Hall in Markdale. Canadian children aged 7-13 years are becoming progressively over- weight • 29 per cent of boys and 24 per cent of girls are overweight — a 15 per cent increase from 1981.
