Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Fed steers sell $142 higher at Tuesday sale Total receipts for the Brussels Livestock for the week ending March 15 were 2,432 head of cattle, 1,094 lambs and goats. On Tuesday fed steers and heifers sold at prices $1 to $2 higher. The cows traded on a steady market. On Thursday the veal sold on a steady market while the lambs sold on a good strong active trade. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a strong active trade. There were 528 steers on offer selling from $112 to $118 with sales to $130.25. Schmidt Brook Farms, Woodstock, consigned one blonde steer weighing 1,500 lbs. which sold to Norwich Packers for $130.25. Their overall consignment of eleven steers averaged 1,530 lbs. for an average price of $122.09. Eleven steers consigned by Melvin B. Martin, Linwood, averaged 1,320 lbs. selling for an average of $120.79 with his top limousin steer weighing 1,295 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $129.25.
