Huron Feeding Systems, Brussels recently received the
award for number one sales dealer in all of Ontario at the
John Ernewein's annual banquet held during the Toronto
farm show. This is the eighth time in the past 16 years that
the business has earned this recognition, while it has been

Brussels Livestock report
Steers sell from $110 - $118 with sales to $132
Total receipts for the Brussels
Livestock for the week ending
March 8 were 2,128 head of cattle,
326 lambs and goats.
On Tuesday fed steers and heifers
sold on a strong active trade. Cows
sold $2 to $3 higher. On Thursday
the veal sold under pressure while
the lambs sold at prices steady to last
week. On Friday all weights and
classes of stockers sold on a strong
steady market.
There were 322 steers on offer
selling from $110 to $118 with sales
to $132. Luke Gingerich, Chesley,
consigned one limousin steer
weighing 1,400 lbs. selling to
Dominion Meats for $132. His
overall consignment of thirteen
steers averaged 1,537 lbs. selling for
an average of $119.67. One
piedmontese steer consigned by
Schmidt Brook Farms Ltd..
Woodstock, weighed 1,450 lbs.
selling to Norwich packers for
$131.25. Their overall consignment
of eleven steers averaged 1,577 lbs.
selling for an average of $116.31.
Lloyd Metzger, Chesley, consigned
three limousin steers averaging
1,498 lbs. selling for an average of
$122.87 with sales to $124.25.

lbs. selling for an average of $117.49
with his top blonde steer weighing
1,530 lbs. selling to DominionMeats
for $121. Lyle and Dave Noble,
Glencairn, consigned thirteen steers
averaging 1,390 lbs. selling for an
average of $116.26 with their top
limousin steer weighing 1,335 lbs.

Three limousin steers consigned
by Cunningham Farms, Lucan,
averaged 1,397 lbs. which were
purchased by Norwich Packers for
$124. Their overall consignment of
thirty-nine steers averaged 1,496 lbs.

Their overall consignment of thirty-
six steers averaged 1,541 lbs. selling
for an average of $112.13. One
charolais steer consigned by John A.
Elliott, Ripley, weighed 1,420 lbs.
which sold for $128.50. His total
consignment of twenty-one steers
averaged 1,678 lbs. selling for an
average price of $111.09.
There were 388 heifers on offer
selling from $110 to $118 with sales
to $128.75. Rockx Farms,
Tillsonburg, consigned six limousin
heifers averaging 1,384 lbs. selling
to Norwich Packers for $128.'75.
Thcir overall consignment of forty-
three heifers averaged 1,392 lbs.
selling for an average of $117.41.
Five limousin heifers consigned by
Kada Farms, Bluevale, averaged
1,300 lbs. which were purchased by
Norwich Packers for $128.25. Their
overall offering of forty-four heifers
averaged 1,291 lbs. selling for an
average of $120. Jack Nonkes,
Auburn, consigned one black heifer
weighing 1,250 lbs. which sold to
Highland Packers Ltd. for $121.50.
Three black heifers consigned by
Grant Lehbrass, Alvinston, averaged
1,285 lbs. selling for an average of
$116.66 with sales up to $117. Leroy
Gould, Exeter, consigned one red
heifer weighing 1,285 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $126. His
overall consignment of two heifers
averaged 1,375 lbs. for an average of
$115,8.8. Fifty-nine heifers
consigned by Melvin W. Bearinger,
Mount Forest, averaged 1,288 lbs.

weighing 1,280 lbs. selling for

There were 188 cows on offer. DI
and D2 cows sold $70 to $77 with
sales to $88; D3, $67 to $70; D4, $50
to $60. Judy Pringle, Chatsworth,
consigned one holstein cow
weighing 1,335 lbs. which sold for
$88.

1,410 lbs. selling to Packerland

Mitchell, consigned one limousin
cow weighing 1,845 lbs. selling to

weighing 1,555 lbs. which brought
$71.50 and one limousin cow
weighing 1,445 lbs. selling for
$68.50, both selling to Levinoff
Meat Products Ltd.
There were nine bulls on offer
selling from $78 to $90 with sales to
$93.50. Clyde Sleightholme,
Listowel, consigned one limousin
bull weighing 2,005 lbs. selling to
Levinoff Meat Products Ltd. for
$93.50. One black bull consigned by
Dave Wheeler, Bluevale, weighed
1,210 lbs. selling to Levinoff Meat
Products Ltd. for $87.
There were 211 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $110 to $136;
Holstein, $90 to $106; Plain
Holstein, $60 to $80.
Mark and Paul Pennington,
Mildmay, consigned one gold veal
heifer weighing 715 lbs. which was
purchased by White Veal Meat
Packers for $136. One gold veal
steer consigned by Frank
Meulensteen, Atwood, weighed 660
lbs. selling to Nature Veal Service
for $134. He also consigned one
limousin veal heifer weighing 625
lbs. which sold to Holly Park Meat
