Winter storms thro area with vengeance
Close one
A large cedar tree couldn't stand up to winter's wrath this
past Sunday and narrowly missed not one, but two homes.
The tree neatly landed between John and Merle Cousins'
and !della Wilson's Brussels houses. (Bonnie Gropp photo)
Blown away
The Nonkeses, owners of Spring Breezes Greenhouse, know just how severe the winds were
on the weekend. The larger of their two greenhouses was torn apart and left in a tangled heap.
Although there was a considerable loss of stock they expect to be up and running with a new
building in time for spring. An Auburn-area greenhouse owned by John and Sherry Blay was
also lost. (David Blaney photo)
Just hanging out Off the wall
Actually this Londesboro business had a sign that could be High winds and falling
best described as just hanging on. One hanger was ripped
branches conspired to rip the
completely out of the sign's frame but luckily the other held
hydro meter off the wall. (David
