Congratulations to Bruce

for the Clinton Public Hospital at the
euchre card party on March 7. There
were 15 tables.
Winners were: high lady, Marj
East; high man, Darrel Wood; most
lone hands, Bernice McClinchey,
tied, Joan Middegaal and Mary
Macintosh. Draw winners were
Erma Cook, and Hugh Cook.
There is one more euchre on April
11 at Ontario Street United Church,
Clinton at 1:30 p.m. Come out and
support your hospital.
The community extends its
sympathy to the family of Peter
Irwin. Peter will be missed in the
community.
Sympathy is also extended to the
family of Bill Shortreed. The
community was also saddened to
hear of the passing of Wayne Rouse.
Our sympathy is extended to Bonna
and family. Sympathy is also
extended to the family of Mary
Manning who passed away in
Huronview this past week.
On a much happier note we send
our congratulations to Winnie.
Vincent on the celebration of 99
years young. A birthday party was
held on Saturday, March 9 at
Seaforth Manor. There were about
50 to 60 friend3 and relatives who
gathered to wish her all the best.
Visitors at tho home of Ralph and
Amy McCrea were their son and his
wife Doug and B.J. from St.
Thomas. Also visiting at the same
home were Velma and Jim MacLeod
from Elliott Lake. They also helped
Winnie celebrate her birthday.
Many relatives gathered at the
home of Brenda Edgar and Stephen
Thompson to help celebrate Mait
Edgar's birthday. While here many
of them attended the hockey games
in Goderich in which Jason Park
from Petoria (Mait's grandson)
participated.
Lloyd and Donna Sippel were
greeting at Blyth United Church on
March 10. Pat Miliken was guest
speaker. Elva Brown filled in as
guest musician.
The scripture reading was read by
Barb Richmond.
Pat's story to the children was
telling the purposes of the staff and
presented each one with a candy
cane to represent the staff. Pat's
message to the adults was the story
of the chosen people going to be
promised land and the feelings and
faith they must have had to leave
everything behind and travel for 40
years to the promised land. We must
be like them and be ready for change
in this changing world we live in.
Emily Phillips reported to the
congregation of the meeting of
Huron-Perth Presbytery she had
attended during the week.
Bad bills turn up
in Seaforth
Huron OPP received two calls
about counterfeit bills in the town of
Seaforth.
On March 4 the first call was
received from the Seaforth
Community Centre when a
counterfeit $10 was found in the
cash deposit. Since the arena was so
busy that weekend they have no idea
who passed the bill.
Next on March 6 another
counterfeit $10 was bound in the
deposit of one of the local grocery
stores uptown. Both bills have been
seized and sent off to the RCMP
counterfeit bureau in Ottawa. A
check has indicated that over 50
reports have been received of this
bill throughout Ontario.
Huron OPP would like to remind
all businesses in Huron County that
the OPP have information and
training videos available to help in
detecting counterfeit currency. Next
month April 9, 10 and 11, during the
evening, the RCMP and OPP are
conducting counterfeit presentations
in Exeter with the assistance of the
South Huron Business of
Commerce. Anyone interested call
Kelly Maidens 1-519-235-2148.

'But I just learned to walk.'
This was one young man who wanted plenty of help before
he tried dealing with something as complicated as skating.
After a little coaxing he appeared to enjoy himself as long
as those special helping hands were nearby. (David Blaney
