Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Fed steers, heifers sell steady Tuesday Total receipts for the Brussels Livestock for the week ending March 1 were 2,296 head of cattle, 242 lambs and goats. Tuesday, fed steers and heifers traded at steady prices. Cows also sold on a steady market. On Thursday both the lambs and veal sold at prices steady to last week. Friday top quality steers and heifer calves sold on a- steady market while the secondcut steers and heifers sold under pressure. Yearlings sold $5 lower. There were 371 steers on offer selling from $112 to $118 with sales to $134.50. Orian R. Martin, Mount Forest, consigned one limousin steer weighing 1,325 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meats for1134.50. Hi', overall offering of five steers averaged 1,460 lbs. selling for an average price of $120.57. One RWF steer consigned by Phares Kraemer, Paisley, weighed 1,360 lbs. and was purchased by Norwich Packers for $132.50. His overall offering of twenty-three steers averaged 1,458 lbs. for an average of $118.10. Schmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock consigned eleven steers averaging 1,538 lbs. selling for an average of $120.16 with their top black steer weighing 1,430 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $127.50. Their overall consignment of three holstein cows averaged 1,517 lbs. selling for an average of $69.87. Bakkerdale Farms Ltd., Drumbo, consigned one holstein cow weighing 1,200 lbs. selling for $82. There were 15 bulls on offer selling from $70 to $80 with sales to $87. Edgar Jones, Ayton, consigned one Limousin bull weighing 1,975 lbs. selling to Aylmer Meat Packers for $86. One blonde bull consigned by Helmuth Weltz, Ayton, weighed 2,310 lbs. and sold to Aylmer Meat Packers for $86. There were 156 head of veal on offer. Beef sold $115 to $134; Holstein, $95 to $106.50; Plain Holstein, $70 to $84. One blonde veal steer consigned by Bert Renkema, Londesboro, weighed 620 lbs. selling for $134 and one red veal steer weighing 665 lbs. selling for $130, both purchased by Holly Park Meat Packers.
