By Bonnie Gropp Citizen editor A delegation from the Huron Pioneer Thresher Association attended the Feb. 18 meeting of North Huron council in Blyth to ask for a clarification to the existing agreement between the municipality and the Association with regards to property. The Threshers own three buildings and the tractor pull track, which are housed on municipally-owned property. Spokesperson Edgar Daer told council that he felt the current agreement needed to have this fact clarified. Daer also noted that the municipality has items stored in the buildings, but the Association is not asking that these be moved. Stewart agreed that the wording of the agreement perhaps did not specify that the buildings are owned by the Threshers, but said that was his understanding. Association director Bill Vincent expressed concern that the wording in the agreement made it seem the municipality could rent out the Threshers' buildings for functions or other activities. "We want to make it clear that that's not what they were built for, but for storage. Yet at the same time we're not saying they can't be used if we are asked."
