MARY ANN HOWSON
After a courageous battle with can-
cer Mary Ann (Newcombe) Howson
of Blyth passed away on Feb. 12,
2002 in her 61st year
Ann was born on Nov. 17,
1941 in Goderich, Ontario and was
the daughter of Ruth (Caldwell)
Newcombe of Goderich and the Ilte
Walter Newcombe (1990).
Mary Ann was a member of the
Blyth United Church and a member
of the board of directors of the
Huron Adult Day Centre. She volun-
teered with the Youth Group of Blyth
United Church, Clinton and
Wingham hospitals and at the Blyth
Public School.
She was the loving mother of
Steve and Cathy Howson of Blyth,
Ron Howson of North Bay and
Sandra and Tony DeCorte of RR2,
Hensall. She was loved and will be
sadly missed by her five grandchil-
dren Meagan, Holly, Jenna, Brenden
and Emily.
Visitation was held at the Blyth
Visitation Centre, 407 Queen St.,
Blyth on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 -
9 p.m. Funeral service was held at
the Blyth United Church, Blyth on
Friday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.
Interment will be at Maitland
Cemetery,' Goderich. Rev. Ernest
Dow officiated.
Flowerbearers were Meagan
Campbell and Sherri Cantelon.
Pallbearers were Jeff Howson,
Rick Howson, Jason Crawford,
Chris Howson, Darryl Eedy and
Dennis Scharfe.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society or Clinton Public Hospital
Foundation would be greatly appre-
ciated as expressions of sympathy.
Funeral • arrangements were
entrusted to Beattie-Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., Clinton.

Pearl (Bell) (Nesbitt)
Weatherhpad of Clinton passed away
at Seaforth Community. Hospital on
Monday, Feb. 18, 2002. She was in
her 86th year.
She was the loving wife of the late
Richard Weatherhead (1997). She
was the dearly loyed mother of
Robert Nesbitt of Walton, Douglas
Nesbitt and wife Mildred of
Wingham, Floyd Nesbitt and wife
Mary of Brussels, Carl Nesbitt and
wife Lena of Blyth, Donna Jacklin
and husband Ross of Cambridge,
William Scotchmer and wife Pam of
Hensall, Patricia Schoenhals and
husband Bruce of Clinton, Bonnie
Savegnago and husband Loris of
Beamsville and Richard
Weatherhead Jr. of Calgary, Al-
berta.
She will be sadly missed by 24
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchil-
dren and by a great-great-grand-
daughter.
Mrs. Weatherhead was prede-
ceased by her daughter Vivian
Charles (1973), a grandson Kenneth
Charles (1974) and a brother George
H. Bell.
A private family service was held
on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Rev. Paul
Ross officiated.
Spring interment will be in
Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.
As expressions of sympathy dona-
tions to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be greatly appre-
ciated.
Arrangements were entrusted to
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes
Ltd., Clinton.
Last Wednesday, 16 people played
darts at the Cranbrook Community
Centre.
Winners were: ladies' high, 102,
Annette Lewington; men's high, 98,
Mark Gillis; most darts, lady, seven,
Annette Lewington; most darts,
men, six, Ernie Lewington and John
Gillis; most finishes, ladies',- two,
Annette Lewington; most finishes,
men, six, Ernie Lewington.
Ten tables played at the euchre
p4rAst Friday which was hosted
by Julie Mitchell and Marie Ferric.
