The Blyth, Festival Singers will
present a Sunday afternoon choral
concert, Music For A Sacred Season
on Sunday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at
Wesley Willis United Church in
Clinton.
The concert will feature some of
the best-loved sacred choral music,

Knows the Trouble I've Seen and
Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.
The Blyth Festival Singers is a 40-

Big River brings together Mark
Twain's classic, The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn, universally hailed
as the first and greatest American
novel, with the music of one of
North America's most original song-
writers, Roger Miller. The result is
Americana at its finest, presented in
the most loved form of entertain-
Significant works of art in their
own right, the best theatre posters
distill the multitude of ideas in a
play into a single compelling image.
Worth a Thousand Words is a
juried exhibition organized by
Gallery Stratford, to coincide with
the 50th anniversary of the interna-
tionally renowned Stratford
Festival. It will present a survey of
the best theatre posters produced
around the world in the last five
bers from throughout Huron County,
led by Richard Hansen of St. Marys.
Sharon Johnston of Goderich is the
accompanist.
Hansen is an accomplished choral
conductor and organist. He also con-
ducts the Georgian Bay Concert
Choir, Georgian Bay Children's
Choir in Owen Sound and the
Stonetown Choral Society in St.
Marys. He is also director of music
at St. Marys United Church.
Johnston is a well-known pianist
and harpist. She also accompanies
the McKay Choristers and the
ment: the Broadway musical. •
Twain's timeless classic sweeps us
down the mighty Mississippi as the
irrepressible Huck Finn helps his
friend Jim, a black slave, escape to
freedom at the mouth of the Ohio
River.
Their adventures along the way
are hilarious, suspenseful and heart-
warming.
Big River brings to life the colour-
ful and memorable characters creat-
ed by Twain — the Widow Douglas
and her stern sister, Miss Watson; the
years (1997 to 2001).
The Gallery invites submissions
until April 15 from professional
artists, illustrators, photographers,
designers, or the theatres that com-
missioned them.
Posters from anywhere in the
world are welcomed. They must rep-
resent theatrical or spoken-word
productions, a season of theatre per-
formances or a theatre festival.
Posters for musicals may be entered,
Goderich Area Youth Chorus.
The concert will also feature guest
organist Angus Sinclair of London.
A former conductor with the Blyth
Festival Singers, Sinclair is an
accomplished organist whose work
includes accompanying the nation-
al-acclaimed Three Cantors, the trio
of singing Anglican priests. Sinclair
brings impressive credentials, cre-
ativity, focus and energy to every
performance and is thrilling to
watch and listen to at the organ con-
sole.
