The couple exchanged vows on September 15, 2001 in the Belgrave United Church. Maid of honour was Kim Leishman. Bridesmaids were Deb Sinclair, Jenna Fischer, Jen Cook and Tracy Robinson. Best Man was Clint Fischer. Groomsmen were Chad Fischer, Brian Sinclair, Jeff Finch and Josh Beuermann. PAGE 29. WI learns of 'Sleeping Children' FROM BELGRAVE Ten tables of euchre were in play on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Women's Institute Hall. Winners were: high lady, Lillian Appleby; second high lady, Jean Pattison; lone hands, Jane Grasby; low lady, Louise Bosman; high man, George Inglis; second high man, John Norman; lone hands, Dennis Leddy; low man, George Michie. The next euchre is Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. There were 13 tables of shoot at play on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Community Centre. Winners were: high lady, Mary Taylor; second high lady, Helen Casemore; most shoots, Marie Park; low lady, Barbara Anderson; high man, Gordon Bosman; second high man, Bev Hayden; most shoots, Mary McIntosh; low man, Lloyd Appleby. The next shoot is Friday, Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m. The Belgrave Women's Institute is again hosting potluck lunches with the first one on Jan. 15 convened by Dorothy Coultes. She led a sing- song, had a contest on Canadian history and gave a summary of happenings in 2001 both locally and worldwide. The WI agreed to support the Walk for Memories at F. E. Madill Secondary School, sponsoring Nancy Jardin. On Feb. 5 Gladys Van Camp introduced the guest speaker, Gary Jewitt who spoke and showed slides on Sleeping Children around the World (SCAW). He is a volunteer with the non- profit organization started by Murray Dryden in 1970. Jewitt's first tour Mabel's Moms met at their usual time on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Those who attended were Linda Hess and Judith, Kim Higgins and Shelby, Donna Raynard, Curtis and Craig, Crystal Agombar, Nicholas and Gage, Lila Higgins and Jessica. Their topic was Speeches. The Kinsmen calendar winners were Donna Hopper, $100, Feb. 2 and Karen Scott, $100 on Feb. 9. WMS meets The WMS held its meeting on Monday, Feb. 4 at the home of Freda Scott. The Purpose was recited and Margaret Siertsema gave the Call to Worship and prayer. Dini Nethery read the scripture. The hymn Love Divine, All Love Excelling was read in unison. A story on The Friendship of Jonathan and David, was read by Mrs. Siertsema. She gave the secretary's report and Ivy Cloakey gave the treasurer's report. Eleven sick and shut-in visits were recorded. The twinning group this year is the Whitechurch WMS. The hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus was read. Mrs. Siertsema .closed with prayer and the hostess served lunch. Irene Schultz is wished a speedy recovery. 10 tables at euchre was to Thailand where he helped name. distribute 4,000 bed kits with the Mr. Jewitt was thanked with a gift help of the Rotary Club there. The kits contain a groundsheet, blanket, pillow, mosquito netting, personal care items, school supplies and clothing in a sturdy bag. Each child is given a t-shirt and is photographed with their bed kit as proof that needy children received them. The bed kits are made in the countries where they are to be distributed which provides employment. The travelling volunteers go at their own expense to underdeveloped countries with their reward being the experience of seeing the gratitude of the families and seeing the country. The cost of a kit is $30 and a donor will receive a photo of the child with the bedkit and a label showing the donor's in appreciation of a most interesting presentation. The next potluck meal and meeting is Feb. 19 at noon.
