R.R. 4, Brussels, ON NOG 1H0 ***Tags can be picked up in person or ordered by telephone*** All dogs must be licensed in compliance with By-law No. 30-2001. A copy of the complete By-law is available for review at the Municipal Office. All dogs must be identified by means of a tag and license, issued for a (1) one year period by: Friday, April 26, 2002 The fee schedule shall be as follows: 1/ All dogs - males, females, and spayed females $20.00 per dog 2/ Kennel License Fee $75.00 (for a kennel of dogs that are registered or eligible for registration under the Animal Pedigree Act) 3/ Late Payment Charge $20.00 per dog (Shall be assessed in addition to the license fee, if the license and/or tag is not purchased by April 26th) Excrement: The By-law requires dog owners to forthwith remove excrement left by a dog, from the property other than the premises of the owner of the dog. Any person contravening this provision is subject to a $50.00 fee. Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Choice anti exotic steers sell $142 higher Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending Feb. 1 were 1,987 head of cattle, 205 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, choice and exotic steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 high- er with other classes selling on a steady trade. Cows sold $1 tp $2 higher on a strong demand. On Thursday, veal sold on a strong active trade with prices $2 to $3 higher. Lambs sold 'at prices steady to last week's market. On Friday the calves sold on a steady market. The yearling steers sold on a strong active trade while the heifers sold under pressure. There were 398 steers on offer selling from $110 to $114 with sales to $130. Darren Johnston, Bluevale, consigned one limousin steer weigh- ing 1,265 lbs. selling to Dominion Meats for $130. His overall consign- ment of three steers averaged 1,302 lbs. selling for an average of $126.05. One limousin steer con- signed by Cunningham Farms, Lucan, weighed 1,295 lbs. and sold to Dominion Meats for $129. Their overall offering of thirty steers aver- aged 1,489 lbs. for an average of $109.98. Willard Siegner, Mildmay, con- signed two limousin steers averaging 1,355 lbs. selling for $117.50. This bi-annual event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 23, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Atrium of the OMAFRA building at 1 Stone Rd. W. in Guelph. Auction items already donated include a Toshiba 36" television, 50 lbs. of prime pork, four rounds of golf at Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club, a grandfather clock, a helicopter flight over Niagara Falls, a framed Peter Etril Snyder print, a trip for two to the Chicago Board of Trade, 500 litres of diesel or furnace oil, a set of golf irons and a crib quilt/wall hanging.
