At the Branch By Jo-Ann McDonald First on my agenda is an apology to Comrade Cecil Moore for omit- ting his name last week and our con- dolences to him on the passing of his wife Iona. My aoology and deepest sympathy to him and his family. Comrades Frank Cardiff and Lloyd Glanville are improving from their health problems and wish them continued better health. Comrade John Wright was a lucky man as he was involved in a car accident last week but was not injured, just shook up. We had to have our auditorium floor looked at as the finish is not standing up as it should. An area was redone with a different product and we will see how it stands up after a few dances are held. Rebekahs plan casserole/eard party The first meeting of 2002 for Morning Star Rebekah Lodge was held on Tuesday, Jan. 8. There was a poor attendance due to many mem- bers being ill. Visits were made to Sisters Leona Connelly, Lorraine Edwards, Mary Lowe, Jean Bridge and ,Retta Hoover. Sisters Joan Bernard and Marion Young celebrated birthdays. Plans are underway for a casserole card party on Monday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $6 per person. The Thursday night darts are hav- ing great fun with a good crowd coming out. The Friday night supper of ham and scalloped potatoes was a hit with a great crowd attending. This week is chicken and rice. I hope to have the promised Haggis for the next week's dinner but have run into a small problem in attaining the elusive Haggis or recipe for one. If you happen to have a recipe please call 887-6570. Thank you. You should have received your newsletter by now and if you notice your name missing from the enter- tainment committee months, please call and volunteer.
