The wait has been wonderful! Greeting friends, going to the con- certs, dressing up for the parties, decorating your home with stuff that memories were made of, thinking about friends and family while you shop for that special gift and strolling through the village admir- ing the pretty lights — and now it is Christmas! Like a child in full blown excite- ment we check the fridge and cup- boards to see that we have the sup- plies we need. We wash the sheets in anticipation of visiting family and we peek under the tree to see that all the gifts are still there. Yes, we're ready! Bring on your favourite Christmas Eve church service with the glow that comes with it. I think it's the love we share as community for each other, for our country and for our fragile world. God bless this holy time. Tomorrow, after that last one more sleep, we gather as family (not nec- essarily blood line family either) to share the glory of the day to share time and treasures with each other. It's a grand opportunity to let some- one know that they hold a special spot in your heart and the wee token you pass to them is saying thanks for being you and for being in my life! From the Graber and Watson home — Greetings in this blessed season! Betty G. W. Many par- ents brought their youngsters for a night of fun with bingo, prizes, pop and chips. The Legion was glad to help the Optimists in this Christmas activity for the community children. We hope to have had a good crowd for our potluck and gift exchange. Remember Dec. 31 is almost here and while you have family members home, maybe they will have a chance to drop in, pay their dues and have a visit. New Year's Eve tickets are about half gone, so if you want a fun night pick yours up at Murray's Barbershop or the Branch. If you like to plan ahead look to the end of January for a Robbie Burns dance — great music and the pipe hand will perform as well. In these unsettled times, let us all take the time to remember our lost veterans and loved ones. Be thankful for the way of life we enjoy because of the efforts of these valiant men and women. Take a moment to pray that the world unrest will soon cease and a new generation of veterans will be but a few.
