of the Wallace/Listowel group.
The Cranbrook ladies provided
potluck and the 16 ladies sat down to
a beautiful meal.
Following dinner they went
upstairs and had the missionary
meeting. Yvonne Knight was in
charge of devotions. She opened
with a reading on Christmas, remind-
ing all not to crowd Jesus out of their
busy lives. Society must repent and
prepare itself-for Christ's coming, as
Advent promises hope for all human-
,
cards, Shirley Verstoep, Bill Craig,
Lois Schneider and Stewart
Musgrove; travelling lone hand,
Elunid McNair; 50/50, Neil Hatt.
The next euchre party will be the
Christmas euchre, the last party of
this year. It will be held on Dec. 21
at the Cranbrook Hall at 8 p.na.
Leslie and Yvonne Knight went on
a bus trip to Branson, Missouri from
Dec. 2 to Dec. 8. They saw many
shows including The Ozark
Mountain History in the IMAX
Theatre, Andy Williams, Jim
Stafford, the Lawrence Welk Show,
and Ronnie Prophet. The Christmas
lights and the music were astonish-
ingly beautiful, they said. They
enjoyed their trip tremendously.
On Dec. 7 Craig Lawrence had his
24th birthday. It was celebrated- in
ity, she said. Brenda Perrie gave a
reading based on Luke 2, which told
of Jesus' birth. Scripture was read
from Matthew 2 by Donna
Knight.
Prayer was offered throughout the
entire meeting. Christmas carols
were interspersed and . everyone
joined in singing. Minutes were read
and approved.
Donna Knight gave the treasurer's
report and new business was brought
forward.

Ladies Aid meeting, to be held Jan. 8

Being a kind Opa, I offered to
babysit my millennium twins last
week so the parents could have some
time off to go shopping and prepare
for Christmas. Their sister Jessica
who is eight years old informed me
that Benjamin is now known as
Benzilla and Evelyn is known as E-
Wrecks. I did notice they are into
everything and somewhat ahead of
the terrible twos stage. Ben is the
leader bulldozer and Evelyn follows
like a steamroller. Together they
make a formidable and very cute
pair.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year and prosper-
Otis 2002 in good health and keep the
news coming.
John Saxon has now retired from
his career as service technician for
major appliances. Over the past 20
years many customers in Cranbrook
and surrounding are have called on
John to service their appliances,
often at off hours, including
Christmas Day.
This Christmas John will not be
available if a range goes into self-
cleaning mode or a fridge stops
working. People will have to find
another service technician to rescue
their turkey dinner.
I know customers will miss him,
but the family will enjoy having him
around at home. It is time to enjoy
retirement, John, and reap the
rewards of being grandfather, parent
and devoted husband.
The community extends deep
sympathy to Debbie Campbell and
her family at the passing of her
mother on Wednesday. Dec. 12.
