Clare Smith of Goderich was the
winner of the Fifth Early Bird Bonus
Draw in the Third Annual Blyth
Bulldogs WIN! WIN! Sweepstakes,
held Saturday. The prize was a Steve
Yzerman autographed hockey hel-
met.
Ticket sales have been steady from
the start and to date, over 1,200 have
been sold. "Ticket buyers like the
choice of grand prize. This year,
many tickets have been purchased by
small groups of co-workers, friends
and family — they share the ticket
cost and will share the cash if they
win," said Dwight Chalmers, one of
the Sweepstakes' organizers.
The sixth and final early bird
bonus draw will be made this
Saturday. The prize is a Team
Canada 2002 jersey autographed by
over 20 players. Autographs include
Steve Yzerman, Curtis Joseph, Mario
Lemieux, Martin Brodeur — and
General Manager, Wayne Gretzky!
Early Bird Bonus prizes are on dis-
play in the window at Blyth
Apothecary, Blyth.
Sympathy is extended to Evelyn
Popp and family on the death of a
husband, father and grandfather,
Lorne Popp.
The winner of the autographed
helmet by Steve Yzerman in the
"You Pick the Pick Up!" was Clare
Smith from Goderich.
There are still 125th calendars
available in most stores throughout
the village.
Jason Badley is still in Packwood
The grand prize draw will be held
Christmas Day for a 2002 pickup of
the winner's choice. The winner will
choose the make (Chevy, Dodge,
Ford or GMC), the model, the
options and the colour, to a maxi-
mum MSRP of $41,900 or $35,000
cash. Call 523-4256 ext. 29 for tick-
ets.
Hospital in London and Ernie
Phillips is home and doing well. Jack
Blake is a patient in Clinton
Hospital.
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on the third Sunday of Advent were
Irma Mason and Joanne MacDonald.
Ushering were Jane and Chris Meier
and Linda and Fred Meier. Guest
speaker was Bruce Whitmore.
Organist was Margaret Kai and guest
soloist was Dane Corned. Lighting
the third advent candle was the Clark
family.
Bruce's message to the children
was the meaning of the word "Joy," J
is for Jesus, 0 is for others and Y is
for yourself. Put Jesus first, others
second and yourself last.
His message to the adults was to
expect the unexpected. What would
you do if Jesus came knocking at
your door?
