Computer store comes to Blyth
that..people are buying computers for
the sole purpose of accessing the
interne. Farm use has also increased
greatly in the last five years, said
McDonald.
With her background in retail
McDonald will soon be opening a
second location at the rear of the new
store with a wide-ranging selection
of goods. She currently has
Christmas gift items and watches but
intends to expand the selection in the
near future.

A one-time resident of Brussels is
bringing her talent home.
Holly Dauphin opened Holly's
Hair and Tanning Salon on
Turnberry Street next door to Just for
You with a grand opening on
Saturday. The business offers full
hair care service and tanning with
retail.
Dauphin originally moved to
Brussels with her family 15 years
ago when in elementary school.
Following her graduation from high
school she attended Marvel Beauty
School in London. She remained in
the city working first at First Choice,
then at Cutz Haircutters.
Now, however, the time had come
for a change, she said. "I wanted
something new. I have worked for
two other people4nd I just decided it
was time to go big, time to do some-
thing on my own."
As well she missed her hometown.
"After living in the city, I wanted to
get back to small town. I was anx-
ious to get back here."
And give something back to it.
While there are other hairstylists in
town, her tanning salon brings a new
service to the village.
Once the decision was made,
things just fell into place, said
Dauphin. "I told Mom, (Heather,
who is also a hairdresser) my plan
and she found out the building was
available. "It all just came together."
Business hours are Tuesdays and
Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10
a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
Appointments can be booked by
calling 887-8989. Holly's welcomes
walk-in business.

Blyth has a new business. To be
more precise, an established business
has opened a retail location on
Blyth's main street.
Manjin Electronics of Teeswater
has moved into the former municipal
office to provide a storefront location
for its computer sales and service
business. Michele McDonald, who
will be running the retail operation
for her father Joe Manjin, said that
they chose Blyth because it was a
good central location.
The business, which still has its
home base on a farm Manjin oper-
ates with his brother, will now be
able to carry more of the small acces-
sory items that people ask for,
according to McDonald. She hopes it
will also make it easier for people
bringing their computers in for
repairs or upgrades.
The business currently offers cus-
tom-built and pre-built computers as
well as networking and applications
assistance to its customers. The
Blyth location will also have a small
repair facility on site.
McDonald said the business has
expanded as people begin to pur-
chase second computers and estab-
lish home networks. She also noted
