Brussels Livestock report
Veal sells $2-$5 higher at Thursday's sale
Total receipts for the Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Nov.
23 were 3,811 head of cattle, 482
lambs and goats.
On Tuesday the fed steers and
heifers sold at prices $4 to $5 higher.
The cpws sold on a steady market.
On Thursday, the veal sold $2 to $5
higher. The lambs and goats sold on
a good steady trade with the new
crop lambs selling strong. On Friday
all classes of calves sold $2 to $5
higher. The yearlings traded steady.
There were 393 steers on offer
selling from $100 to $106 with sales
to $118.75. One limousin steer con-
signed by Schmidt Brook Farms,
Woodstock, weighed 1,315 lbs. sell-
ing to Norwich Packers for $118.75.
Their overall consignment of eleven
steers averaged 1,551 lbs. for an
average price of $103.45.
K.B.D. Farms, Walton, consigned
one limousin steer weighing 1,435
lbs. selling to Dominion Meats for
$115.50. Their overall consignment
of fifteen steers averaged 1,430 lbs.
selling for an average of $108.28.
Ten limousin steers consigned by
Amzi Wideman, Listowel, averaged
1,445 lbs. for an average price of
$110 with his top limousin steer
weighing 1,390 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $114.75.

signed seven red steers averaging

$107.10 with sales up to $108.

lbs. and sold to Norwich Packers for
$114. His overall consignment of
seven steers averaged 1,532 lbs. for
an average of $105.36. Scott
Kernighan, Goderich, consigned two
black steers averaging 1,320 lbs.

There were 207 heifers on offer
selling from $100 to $106 with sales
to $116.75. Don Eadie, Wingham,
consigned one gold WF heifer
weighing 1,270 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $116.75. His
overall consignment of six heifers
averaged 1,194 lbs. for an average of
$109.64. One gold heifer consigned
by Grant LehbraSs, Al vinston,
weighed 1,325 lbs. and was pur-
chased by Norwich Packers for
$116. His overall consignment of
thirteen heifers averaged 1,330 lbs.
for an average of $106.96.
Merkley Farms, Wroxeter, con-
signed six limousin heifers averag-
ing 1,268 lbs. selling to Norwich
Packers for $112.25. One charolais
heifer consigned by Decroft Farms
Ltd., Clinton, weighed 1,265 lbs. and
sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for
$114.25. Their overall consignment
of four heifers averaged 1,328 lbs.
for an average price of $109.98.
B & T Farms, Ailsa Craig, con-
signed six heifers averaging 1,291
lbs. which brought an average price
of $107.36 with their top limousin
heifer weighing 1,405 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $113. Three
limousin heifers consigned by Bill
Kerslake, Staffa, averaged 1,182 lbs.
selling to Dominion Meats for $112.
His overall consignment of twenty-
seven heifers averaged 1,190 lbs. for
an average price of $107.21. Russell
Kernighan, Goderich, consigned one
black heifer weighing 1,200 lbs.

cow weighing 1,440 lbs. selling to
Aylmer Meat Packers for $78.50.
Their overall consignment of three
holstein cows averaged 1,260 lbs. for
$63.99. One holstein cow consigned
by Gideon Schriek, Chesley„
weighed 1,590 lbs. sold to Aylmer
Meat Packers for $74. He consigned
two other holstein cows averaging
1,462 lbs. selling to Packerland
Packing Co. Inc. for an average of
$59.84. Bill Howe, Cargill, con-
signed one limousin cow weighing
1,135 lbs. selling for $74 and one red
cow weighing 1,120 lbs. selling to
Abattoir Les Cedres Ltee for $61.50.
There were 22 bulls on offer sell-
ing from $51 to $70 with sales to
$89. Ron and Jennifer Blanc,
Durham, consigned one blonde bull
weighing 1,715 lbs. selling to
Levinoff Meat Products Ltd. for
$74.50.
There were 135 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $110 to $159;
Holstein, $95 to $115.50; Plain

veal steer weighing 670 lbs. selling

$159. His total consignment of three
veal averaged 673 tbs. for an average
