ZONING BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Permanent part-time position
The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is seeking a Chief Building
Official/Property Standards Officer / Zoning By-law Enforcement
Officer to commence duties as soon as possible. The
Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is located in a rural setting in
southwestern Ontario, in the County of Huron. This position will
be classed as permanent part time, offering a minimum of 30
hours employment per week.
Reporting to the council, the applicant will be responsible for
administration, implementation and enforcement of all functions
associated with the Ontario Building Code Act, including
policies, procedures and Municipal By-laws as determined from
time to time by Council.
The ideal candidate will have a post secondary education or
training in building, engineering or architectural technology or
equivalent, with a Certified Building Code Official (CBO)
designation. A minimum of five years municipal experience is
recommended. To be familiar with Nutrient Management and the
MOS formula will be an asset. Previous experience issuing
permits and conducting inspections in accordance with the
Ontario Building Code Act and municipal standards is an asset.
The successful candidate will be flexible and possess excellent
organizational skills, have superior oral, written and
interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and
other data base applications will be an asset. A valid driver's
licence is a requirement.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefit package,
Applicant must be willing to supply a vehicle for travel and will be
compensated by a mileage rate. A detailed job description is
