THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2001. PAGE 11. Grey Central Echo Kindergartens learn about technology Mrs. Bowler's Grey Central kindergarten class is learning about technology and tools. They love learning about simple machines and transportation. In Mrs. Scott's class, they are learning about the letter "K" and the letter "C". Together these letters make a hard "C" sound. In art, they made fuzzy caterpillars and butter- flies. This week they learned a cater- pillar song. Miss Hill's class is rewriting the book The Three Little Pigs. In math, they are learning how to tell time. This week the Grade 2 class made two big books together. They also experimented to find out how fast snails could travel. They were watching the larch trees changing. In art, they were mixing secondary colours for a project. Mr. Walker's Grade 4/5 class had the greatest week. They made a new movie that was about political par- ties. They have plenty of ads for the movie. Mrs. Mitchell's class is busy work- ing on their black and white poster entries for the Legion's Remembrance Day poster contest. In math, they are reviewing multiplica- tion and working on speeding up their recall of math facts. Congratulations to the many folks who did well on the social studies test last week. In geography, Miss Henry's class learned how people move from one place to another. In math, the Grade 7/8s are learn- ing to calculate the area of irregular shapes. In art, they made peace posters. In music, they sang Father and Son by Cat Stevens.
