Kindergartens learn about technology
Mrs. Bowler's Grey Central
kindergarten class is learning about
technology and tools. They love
learning about simple machines and
transportation.
In Mrs. Scott's class, they are
learning about the letter "K" and the
letter "C". Together these letters
make a hard "C" sound. In art, they
made fuzzy caterpillars and butter-
flies. This week they learned a cater-
pillar song.
Miss Hill's class is rewriting the
book The Three Little Pigs. In math,
they are learning how to tell time.
This week the Grade 2 class made
two big books together. They also
experimented to find out how fast
snails could travel. They were
watching the larch trees changing. In
art, they were mixing secondary
colours for a project.
Mr. Walker's Grade 4/5 class had
the greatest week. They made a new
movie that was about political par-
ties. They have plenty of ads for the
movie.
Mrs. Mitchell's class is busy work-
ing on their black and white poster
entries for the Legion's
Remembrance Day poster contest. In
math, they are reviewing multiplica-
tion and working on speeding up
their recall of math facts.
Congratulations to the many folks
who did well on the social studies
test last week.
In geography, Miss Henry's class
learned how people move from one
place to another.
In math, the Grade 7/8s are learn-
ing to calculate the area of irregular
shapes. In art, they made peace
posters. In music, they sang Father
and Son by Cat Stevens. In science,
the class is looking at ocean currents
and the Coriolis effect.
