terrific fall weather. Each nice day is
a gift to be used as we see fit.
The Watson Crew w/as in
Kitchener at Centre in The Square
on Saturday to be the proud relatives
for some of the cast of Oliver. John
and'Christine let their talents out so
the rest of us could enjoy the songs
and dancing of this story of lost love
for Oliver Twist. Once again KW
Musical Productions did a fine job.
As volunteers they are part of the
whole show from painting props, to
sales and advertising as well as
countless hours of practise.
Lindsay and Andrew were
impressed with the show and even
got autographs from Oliver, Fagin
and Nancy - their stars. Grandma
Alma just smiled.
Christmas shopping got started for
me this week in Newmarket but it
was very strange to be wandering the
mall with lots of folks wearing
shorts. It was hard to stay on subject
let alOne season.
The 5Rs had its 10th annual meet-
ing this week. The mood was upbeat

as we celebrated the year with spe-
cial note - the new paint job, funded
by our favourite auditor Nancy
MacDonald Exel. The resulting reor-
ganization of the store layout with
the new colour brought about
increased sales. Volunteers were
thanked for their ongoing attendance
and support of the store.
The sewing machine at the store is
in a terminal state so if you have one
to give or sell call Joan at the 5Rs
and make her day.
As we head into cold and flu sea-
son be nice to yourself and wash
your hands for at least 15 seconds
each time you know you should.
Sing a slow Happy Birthday to You
or the Alphabet Song as you lather
with soap and water and you'll put
99 per cent of the nasty germs down
the drain. Think about what your
hands have touched and you'll want
to sing lustily. Stay clean and keep
healthy.
Enjoy the sun.
Bye now, Betty .G. W.

I would like to acknowledge and thank all those who made
Remembrance Day such a success. It was nice to see so many
out to remember those who have gave so much. Thank you to
Judy, Terry, and Pam, my poppy committee. Thank you to Glenn,
Julie, Sandra and Joanne for your help. Thank you to all who
donated during the poppy canvass and to the Cadets and Legion
members who helped with the canvassing. Thank you to all who
allowed us to place poppy boxes in their businesses. Thank you
to our Padre, Joan Golden and to Rev. Tom Wilson for their lovely
services of Remembrance Day, at the Cenotaph, the church and
Huronlea. Thank you to our Pipe Band for leading our parade and
to Lisa for organizing the flag bearers and parade. It takes many
volunteers to help events run smoothly, but this is one occasion
when the work we do will never be enough to repay those who
fought for and may have given their lives for our freedom.
Yours in Comradeship,
Poppy Chairman, Linda Bird.
