Agriculture Brussels Livestock report 3,386 head sold during week at Brussels Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending Nov. 9 were 3,386 head of cattle, 317 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. the cows sold $1 to $2 lower. On Thursday, the veal traded at prices $2 to $3 higher. The lambs sold on a steady market. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a steady market. There were 555 steers on offer selling from $95 to $100 with sales to $120. Scottslea Farms Ltd., Blyth, consigned one blue steer weighing 1,330 lbs. which was pur- chased by Norwich Packers for $120. One limousin steer consigned by Merkley Farms, Wroxeter, weighed 1,300 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $112.50. Their overall consignment of two limousin steers averaged 1,318 lbs. for an average price of $108.45. Tyler Murray, Lucknow, con- signed one limousin steer weighing 1,355 lbs. which sold to Norwich Packers for $105.25. There were 241 cows on offer. D1 and D2 cows sold $57 to $62 with sales to $83.50; D3, $52 to $57; D4, $40 to $50. Phil Clark, Goderich, consigned one holstein cow weigh- ing 1,205 lbs. which was purchased by Packerland Packing Co. Inc. for $83.50. His overall consignment of seven cows averaged 1,278 lbs. for 1979 with the purpose of helping members develop ecological farm- ing methods which maintain and enhance the health of the soil, the crops, the livestock and the commu- nity. Membership, including farm- ers, rural' non-farmers and con- sumers, strives to farm in ways that maintain and enhance the health of not only their farms but the ecologi- cal and human community around them. The cost of the symposium is $15 for EFAO members, $20 for non- members and an organic lunch is included. The West Williams •Twp.
