THE CITIZEN , WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001. Obituaries THOMAS ALCOCK Thomas John Alcock of Parkwood Hospital, London, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001. He was in his 79th year. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith (Biel) Alcock. He was the dear father of Collin Alcock and his wife Dagmar of Tiverton and Jacquie Lebold of New Hamburg and grandfather of Jason and John Alcock and Katie and Erin Lebold. He was the dear stepson of Isobel Alcock and dear brother of Bill and Helene Alcock, Ken and Carol Alcock, Betty Daer, Ross and Cora Alcock, Murray and Barb Alcock, Mr. Alcock was predeceased by his parents Jack and Margaret (Clark) Alcock and his brother Frank. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service was conducted at Brussels Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Wils2n of St. John's Anglican Church, Brussels, officiating. RONALD ROBERT BAIRD Mr. Ronald Baird of Blyth passed away at Clinton Public Hospital, Clinton on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001. He was 73. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith Leppard (1985). He was the dear brother of Allan and Jean Baird of California. Mr. Baird was also survived by his sister-in-law Dorothy Baird of Hamilton and sev- eral cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Jeanne (Keane) Baird, his brothers Willie, Robbie and James and by his sisters Ruby McGee, Ena Baird, Dorothy Smith, Mary Harland, Christine Kelly and Edna Grottolo. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Paul Ross officiated. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery, Tumberry Twp. WILMA ELIZABETH (GAL- BRAITH) BREDIN Wilma "Billie" Elizabeth (Galbraith) Bredin of Toronto passed away peacefully at Belmont House on Monday, Oct. 22, 2001. She was in her 94th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Elliott hilliard Bredin and dear mother of Peter Bredin and his wife Jaccy of Toronto and Jane Currie and her husband Bruce of Cambridge. She was the dear grandmother of Mark, Lynn, Paul and Julie Bredin and Timothy and wife Jacquie, Ian and wife Jennifer, Martha, Peter and wife Susie Currie and Jennifer and husband Joe Ronca and great-grand- mother of Ted, Matt and Eric, Emily, Stephanie and Sarah Currie. She was predeceased by her par- ents John and Ida (Bowman) Galbraith and her brothers James and John Galbraith. Wilma loved music_ and was a graduate of The Royal Conservatory of Music and a long-time member of the Women's Musical Club. Cremation with the graveside service of interment of cremated remains was held at Brussels Cemetery on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cathrine Campbell officiating. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Sue (Harris) Dillon. He was the dear father of Dan Dillon and his wife Wendy of Wroxeter, Richard Dillon and his friend Brenda Elliott of Thedford, Randy Dillon and his friend Cindy Upsdell of Strathroy, Beverly Dillon and her friend Darryl Baker of Strathroy and Bonnie Adair and her friend Don Lyons of Appin. He was the dear brother of Dorothy Amond of Alliston, Mabel Lachapell of Toronto and Theresa Thompson of Lucknow. Mr. Dillon was also loved by his eight grand- children Joseph, Laura, Anthony, The Majestic Women's Institute of Brussels held a soup and sandwich luncheon in the Brussels Library on Thursday at noon. The 50/50 draw was won by Viola Carrie, Sarah, Jamie. Kain. and Hayden and his two great-grandchil- dren Ty and Riley. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary and Marg and brothers Pat and Jimmy. Friends were received by the fam- ily from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, Brussels, where the service was conducted on Friday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. with Father Ron Paquette of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church officiating. Cremation followed with inter- ment of cremated remains in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Toronto. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. KAY "TUDDY" SCHMITT Kay "Tuddy" Schmitt passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at Seaforth Community Hospital. She was in her 67th year. She, was the beloved wife of the late Ken Schmitt and loving mother of Debbie and her husband Ray Bradbury, Alan and his wife Lisa, Adams. Tally winners were Viola Adams, Helen Dobson, Jeanne Ireland, Ross Cunningham, Viola Kirkby and Betty McCall.
