PAGE it Home & Garden 2001 Potential revealed in farmhouse renovation From old to new It's virtually impossible to see where the old house left off and the new house begins with the recent addition to the home of Allan and Cheryl Krotz. (Bonnie Gropp photo) By Bonnie Gropp Citizen editor Sometimes you have to live with something for awhile to realize its potential. Cheryl and Allan Krotz moved into their farmhouse, located west of Brussels, in 1986. The fairly small one and a half storey dwelling they humbly described as "rundown", was for the young family a place to start, a home. With little privacy or space they were needless to say, eagerly awaiting the addition, said Cheryl. This past July, the old portion at the back was torn down. The final result is an enlarged kitchen and din- ing area with an adjacent family sit- ting room. There is a mud room, laundry room and downstairs wash- room. The space in this area has just Continued on page 12 Helping them put everything together was a 3-D Home Architect computer program.
