UCW meets
The Blyth United Church Women
met in the church parlour on Sept.
25.
The" guest speaker was from the
Huron Alzheirnpr Society. She said a
head injury -causing unconscious-
ness, makes a person more suscepti-
ble to the disease, as does heredity
and a high fat diet.
Keeping yourself mentally active
is a deterrent. Hormone replacement
therapy, with doctor's advice, is also
considered to delay the onset of the
disease.
By the age of 90, one in three per-

The children's hymn Was Can A
Little Child like me? The children's
story was The Broken String. When
we do something wrong, we break
the string to God, but when we ask
for forgiveness God ties a knot in the
• string and it becomes shorter and a
shorter way to God.
The choir's anthem was accompa-
'nied by Barb Bosman at the piano.
Mr. Williams's message was how
optimism helps people face reality.
Sunday School will begin Oct. 14
in the Blyth United Church.
