ROBERT ROY BUCHANAN
Robert Roy Buchanan of Blyth
passed away at Clinton Public
Hospital, on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001.
He was in his 73rd year.
He will be fondly remembered by
his brothers Jim and wife Dolores of
Windsor, John and wife Anne of
London, and his sister Lorna
Whitmore and husband Doug of
Blyth. He will also be remembered
by his nieces and nephews. "Uncle
Roy" will be sadly missed by his
many friends and extended family.
Mr. Buchanan was predeceased by
his parents John and Mary Buchanan
and his brother Bill.
Friends were received at the
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes
Ltd. - Blyth Visitation Centre, 407
Queen St., Blyth on Monday
evening from 7 - 9 p.m. where a_
funeral service was held on Tuesday,
Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.
Cremation to follow with inter-
ment of ashes in Brandon Cemetery,
Belgrave.
As an expression of sympathy
donations to the charity of one's
choice would be appreciated.
NETTIE GEIEWAR
Mrs. Nettie (Galbraith) Grewar of
Caressant Care, Listowel, formerly
of Brussels, passed away on
Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001. She was 95.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Archer Grewar; the dear mother
of Kinloch Grewar and his wife Lois
of Marysville, Washington, and Jack
Grewar and his wife Diane of
Listowel; the dear sister of Morris
Galbraith of Caressant Care,
Listowel, and Marjorie Ga,lbraith of
Hamilton; the dear grandmother of
Nancy Merritt and her husband Dave
of British Columbia, Bradley
Grewar and his wife Joan of Whitby,
and Pamela Jane Grewar of Toronto;
and great-grandmother of Samantha,
Madlyn and Devon.
She was also loved by her many
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her broth-
ers, Jack, Lorne and George; and her
sisters, Ethel and Eva.
Visitation was held on Sunday,
from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., at the
Schimanski Family Funeral Home,
Brussels, where the funeral service
was conducted on Monday, Sept. 10
at 2 p.m. Rev. Cathrine Campbell
officiated.
Acting as pallbearers were David
Hastings, Harvey Shaw, Lloyd
Smith, Robert Galbraith, Robert
Sproule and Carl Steif.
Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy,
memorial donations were made to
Melville Presbyterian Church or the
charity of one's choice.
Over the past 20 years, communi-
ty newspapers across Ontario have
recognized the spirit and achieve-
ments of more than 270 young peo-
ple and 16 groups. Nominations for
the current program are now
being accepted.
All young people who are
nominated receive a certifi-
cate recognizing the contri-
butions they have made to
their communities. Up to 12
of the nominees are then
chosen to receive the Award, pre-
sented by' Ontario's Lieutenant
Governor during a special ceremony
held in Toronto.
Nominees may be involved in
community service; have performed
acts of heroism; be making contribu-
