Obituaries
ADAM ALEXANDER ROBERT-
SON
Adam Alexander Robertson
passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital on Thursday, Sept.
6. 2001. He was 91.
Mr. Robertson was born in East
Wawanosh Twp. to -the late Adam
and Ann (King) Robertson. He
attended SS11 East Wawanosh and
Wingham high schools.
Mr. Robertson farmed throughout
his life and later repaired small
engines. He retired in 1973.
A former township councillor and
board member for Wingham hospi-
i.tal. Mr. Robertson was a Past
District Deputy Grand Master of the
North Huron District. He was a
member of the• Wingham Lodge.
A.F. and A.M. #286, of the Lebanon
Chapter #84; Royal Arch Masons of
, Canada. He was a Past Patron of the
Eastern Star and a member of the
Mocha Temple Shrine, London and
the Imperial Conclave of Stratford.
He was also a 32 Degree member of
the Scottish Rite, Hamilton.
Mr. Robertson belonged to St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church in
Wingham.
His interests included music, play-
ing the banjo, gardening and sports.
He was the beloved husband of the
former Jean Forster. He was the dear
father of James and Diane Robertson
of Hanover, Margaret and Ronald
Cook of Belgrave and Marilyn and
Stephen Cruickshank of Ajax. He
was the dear brother of Mary (Mrs.
William) Peacock of Bluevale and
Agnes (Mrs. Gordon) McBurney of
East Wawanosh.
Mr. Robertson was also survived
by his grandchildren, Michael, Lisa,
Erin, Shannon, Chad, Lucas and
Scott.
A sister, Janet (Mrs. Dawsoli)
Craig, predeceased him.
Visitation was at the McBumey
-Funeral Home. Wingham, on
Saturday, Sept. 8 from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m.
A Masonic memorial service was
held in the funeral home on Saturday
at 6:30 p.m., followed by an Order of
Eastern Star memorial service at
6:50 p.m.
The funeral service was held at St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church' on
Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. John P.
Vaud ry officiated.
Pallbearers were Michael
Robertson, Lucas Cruickshank,
Chad Cook, Alex Craig, Hugh
McBurney and Ross Peacock.
Interment was in Wingham
Cemetery, Tumberry Twp.
Memorial donations to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation or St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church
would be appreciated as expressions
of sympathy.
EILEEN GOLDEN
Eileen Golden, 79, passed away
peacefully at Leamington District
and Memorial Hospital on
Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001.
She was predeceased by her hus-
band Roy in 1988. She was the
beloved mother of Richard and his
wife Joan of -Brussels, Janet Dickson
and her husband Craig of Mount
Albert, David and his wife Tammy
of Kingsville. She was the loving
grandmother of Pam and Steven
Kirkpatrick. Waterloo; Christie, Alex
and Jonathan, Mount Albert; and
Jason, Brandy and Justin Golden of
Kingsville.
She was predeceased also by her
brother Keith Deacon in 1998.
Eileen will be missed also by sis-
ter-in-law Lois Deacon, special
cousin Rhoda Corn of Mount
Brydges• brother-in-law and sister-
in-law. Joe and Ruth (Golden)
Pickel, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eileen was a member of The
Eastern Star of Kingsville since
1975 and a 50-year member of the
Lily Rebekah Lodge in Kingsville.
A celebration of life service was
held on Friday, Aug. 31 with Rev:
Colin Swan officiating. Interment
was in Greenhill Cemetery,
Kingsville.
ROBERT NICHOLAS HILL
Robert Nicholas Hill passed away
at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on
Aug. 21, 2001.
Nick Hill was in his 59th year.
He was the beloved husband of
Margaret (Twyman) Hill, dear broth-
er of Christopher of England and
Jonathan of Minnesota. A memorial
service will be held at Trinity
Anglican Church, Blyth, Saturday,
Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.
Donations, if desired, may be
made to the London Regional
Cancer Centre as expressions of
sympathy.
