Brussels Livestock report
Fed steers, heifers sell $1-$2 higher, Tuesday
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
7 were 2,144 head of cattle, 565
lambs and goats.
On Tuesday fed steers and heifers
sold at prices $1 to $2 higher. The
cows sold steady to last week. Veal
sold on a strong active trade while
the lambs sold sharply higher. All
calves and yearlings sold on a strong
active trade.
There were 300 _steers on tiller
selling from $107 to $110 with sales
to $117. Dennis. Lamport, Crediton,
consigned one limousin steer weigh-
ing 1,270 lbs. which sold for $117.
His overall consignment of thirteen
steers averagea 1,305 lbs. for an
average price of $111.37.
One charolais steer consigned by
Jim Howatt, Londesboro, weighed
1,400 lbs. and sold to Dominion
Meats for $116. His overall
-offering of nine steers averaged
1,477 lbs, selling for an_ average of
$109.60.
Murray Shiell, Wingham, con-
signed eighteen steers averaging
1,383 lbs. selling for an average of
$108.88 with his top limousin steer
weighing 1,145 lbs. selling to
Dominion Meats for $115.
