I had a kitchen lire in my house
last week. I shall not dwell on the
stupidity of the person, but I would
like to mention that our volunteer
department was very fast in respond-
ing to the call for help.
All the men were most efficient
and caring in the execution of
their work. It could not have been
better.
My insurance company and the
restoration company were respond-
ing to my call on the same day as
well.
In this world where so much of the
news is bad, it is a pleasure to give
good news as well. I am deeply
grateful to everyone on the fire
department.
My place is extremely large and if
something happens in one part you
may not notice it if you are in anoth-
er part of the buildings. Two years
ago my sister brought me a stray cat
from Montreal. Cammie was wild
and very timid when she arrived. For
at least a year she lived upstairs
under a bed. I would go upstairs and
sit on the floor with her bowl of
food. I would wait until she came to
me.
Eventually -she got accustomed to
me and started to get out from under
her bed. It took her another year to
get accustomed to the whole house
and now she is mistress of all. Even
the dogs, Hendrik of the Skunk and
Emma the Perfect, pay attention to
her.
It was Cammie who came and bit
me to warn me-that there was the
Lea and Kirk Wittig are very proud
of their granddaughter Jessica, and
their daughter Candice because of
their achievements in the horse show
competition that was held in
Monkton on Monday, Sept. 3.
Jessica received one first and two
seconds, while Candice received two
firsts and one sixth. Congratulations

PARTNERSHIP!!! on the accomplishment of the high score
rating of the province wide Hospital "Report Card" for acute
services in Ontario. The Huron Perth Hospitals Partnership
(HPHP) was "one of only 5 organizations in the province to score

dates/times for community clinics.
INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE VOLUNTEER people
have been wondering what the blue and white flag is - a salute to
our Volunteers in the Year 2001.
