A little of this, a little of that
The craft show offers a variety of items for people who look for a broader scope in
their entertainment than machinery. And it gives campers an opportunity to do some
grocery shopping too.
Numerous vendors attracted
to Thresher's craft show
With numerous vendors attracted to the
Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby
Association's craft show, the arena floor
overflows with beautiful works while others
display their wares outside.
Dozens of displays will include hand-
painted china, ceramics, wood whittling,
knitting, jewelry, quilting, fabric works,
woodworking and much, much
more.
The task of organizing crafters for the
Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby
Association Reunion begins months in
advance.
Information and application forms are
sent to all past participants as well as any
new craftspeople as soon as the date for the
next reunion is set. All applications are
returned by the end of August so the organ-
ization of the floor plan for the tables in the
Blyth and District Community Centre can
begin.
Pictures of crafts intended for display are
often requested to ensure all items are hand-
crafted. This also helps in the placing of dis-
plays to create a pleasing arrangement and a
good variation of styles around the arena,
she says.
There are plans for on-going demonstra-
tions such as quilting, woodworking, whit-
tling, jewellery assembly, china painting.
and running trains.
