40th Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion `\‘cf
Autographed quilt, cookbook planned for Reunion
By Bonnie Gropp
Citizen staff
Deb Hakkers has enjoyed a a relatively long
association with the Huron Pioneer Thresher
Reunion, for one so young. She and her hus-
band became involved in the co-ordination of
the food at the three-day event, shortly after
their marriage seven years ago. -
Hakkers, too, has a love for crafts. So it is
little surprise that to mark the Reunion's 40th
Association colours of burgundy and grey.
Anyone interested in signing a block can
find the Hakkers at their craft booth, which
will be pinpointed by a burgundy sign.
Also, Deb is planning a 40th anniversary
cookbook. Recipes for "anything and every-
thing from everyone " are being invited for
inclusion. "People come to the Reunion from
all over so we want addresses included." Drop
them into the booth, e-mail them later to
fdjq'hakkers@hurontel.on.ca or mail them to
Box 328, Blyth, ON, NOM 1HO
The cookbook is hopefully going to be com-
pleted by this spring with plans for its sale at
the 2002 Reunion. Price is expected to he $10.

Visitors to the show, diretors or just interested
folk are invited to sign a block for a com-
memorative quilt which will be displayed dur-
ing each reunion in Shed 3.
To sign, individuals must pay $5 to help
cover costs, but it will create a beautiful mem-
ory of the 40th Reunion.
