40th Hunt Pioneer Thresher Reunion
Remembering the past and the way they were
In the fields
There are those when one thinks of the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion whose names will be recalled first. The Leiper
brothers, Bill and Tom, here with Norman Cook (right), now all deceased, spent a good deal of time each year preparing the
wheat for the threshing demonstrations. (From The Citizen archives, 1989)
Impressive display
Wilbert Phillipi has been the man at
the sawmill each and every year for
some time. The demonstration gener-
ally attracts a large number of people.
At Reunion end the sawmill is disman-
tled and put into storage for the next
Reunion. (From The Citizen archives, 1993)
The old way
Wayne Lowe tried his hand at log sawing while Dwight Hallahan holds it steady
during the adult special events at the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion. Lowe
went on to become a chair of the special events committee. Hallahan is the son
of long-time Association member Ray Hallahan. , (From The Citizen archives, 1992)
Moving them in
It's a big job moving in the heavy equipment for the annual Reunion and Ray
Hallahan for many years used one of his construction company trucks to get the
work accomplished. (From The Citizen archives, 1986)
